Natalie! Why do you hate Brodon so much? Cried Chantelle in anger, storming out of the house.

What was that about? Asked Emily, taking a seat on the couch.

She likes that Brodon kid; and I told him that she could do so much better than what he has to

offer Admitted Natalie with a defeated sigh.

Well, Nat, look at it from her perspective ok? She likes him a lot and theyve really began to

connect, so maybe you should just let them see where it goes and if it turns out bad then let her deal

with it and then she will come back to us and let us tell her how right we were about it Said Emily

quietly

I guess but cmon, even you should know that she could do so much better Proclaimed Natalie

with a smile

I dont know him well enough to judge him and neither do you Natalie, so maybe you should take

the time Said Emily getting up and walking out into the kitchen

Yeah maybe Mumbled Natalie to herself, sitting back on the couch with her arms folded across her

chest.

2 Days prior

Chantelle sat on her bed texting Brodon, the guy she had a crush on at the moment and just hoped

he had some sort of feelings for her. None of her friends seemed to like him; well Natalie didnt

seem to like him, Emily just seemed to be controversial, she was stuck in the middle, unable to

choose a side but keep everything balanced.

Brodon can I tell you something? Xx wrote Chantelle before hitting send.

sure, whats up? Xx replied Brodon almost instantly

Chantelle took a deep breath and wondered how to word it all. Well we have been getting closeras friends lately and I really enjoy being around you and spending time with you. Your presence just

lifts me up and it makes me so happy I think Im developing feelings for you xx she sent

It was almost a whole minute before he replied. well, it took you long enough to say it? I knew you

had feelings for me.. you were sending me signals I just hope you received my signals in return ;)

xx replied Brodon.

Chantelle put a grin on her face and took deep breaths to calm her racing heart.

well, I guess I didnt I didnt think youd like me xx she said back

silly girl xx replied Brodon.

Chantelle smiled and put the phone down, closing her eyes and letting thoughts about Brodon fill

her mind with happiness.

1 Day prior

Chantelle, Emily and Natalie were the best of friends and they all lived together in a four bedroom

house with a lovely swimming pool and 2 bathrooms. Today they had decided to do some shopping

which always put them in a great mood.

Chantelle and Emily walked into their favourite store full of jewellery and mystical items while

Natalie looked through the window outside. It wasnt long before she spotted Brodon walking down

the street with a few mates.Hey, youre Natalie right? He asked when he reached her

Yeah and you are Brodon? She asked, already knowing that answer

Yeah is Chantelle around? He asked with a smile

She might be but were busy Replied Natalie trying to keep calm. She didnt very much like

Brodon a whole lot

Well, can you just let her know I said hi He said

Dont count on it Said Natalie turning away from him.

So, you obviously dont like me very much Said Brodon with a chuckle

Youre not wrong there She said

Maybe you should get to know me instead of judging me without even a first impression Stated

Brodon beginning to walk away

You know what Brodon you dont deserve her Chantelle could do a whole lot better and you

know it she could do so much better than you for sure so maybe you should stay away Said

Natalie before walking into the store and up to Emily and Chantelle who hadnt noticed a thing.

The day of the incident

Hey Brodon, did I do something wrong? Xx texted Chantelle worried because Brodon had not been

enthusiastic when texting her

of course not. Why? Xx he replied almost 5 minutes later.

well, you dont seem to be talking to me xx said Chantelle

well, I guess after what your little friend was saying to me yesterday, I just didnt want to give her

any other reason to make wrong assumptions about me. Xx he said

what are you talking about? Xx asked Chantelle, a look of confusion clearly on her face.

Natalie told me that you could do so much better than me and that I dont deserve you xx said

Brodon.

Chantelle threw her phone onto her bed and then walked quickly out to Natalie, intent on raging.

Chantelle didnt know where she was heading, but she left her phone at the house. Brodon was

barely talking to her and now her friends would be talking about her. She was just getting so

annoyed. Why couldnt they just get to know Brodon and learn about how amazing and caring he is?

Why does everything with them have to be so hard? She thought.

By the time she realised where she was going; Chantelle had ended up in the lounge room of her

other best friends house.

Bec, why do they just not understand? I mean, Brodon is so amazing Said Chantelle

Well, you know what Natalies like if its not all about her then shell make it all about her Said

Bec, telling it how it was.

I know maybe I should just let it go, I think I will just go back home and sort it out with Brodon; I

mean, he is so amazing! You have no idea how amazing he is its amazing Muttered Chantelle

getting to her feet

I get it love, he is amazing and I cant wait to meet him Said Bec with a grin

Natalie got out of the shower and was walking into the kitchen when Chantelle walked through the

door and silently walked past and to her bedroom without saying a word to her or Emily who was

sitting at the table.

Maybe you should go talk to her Suggested Emily softly

Why? I havent done anything wrong... its all Brodons fault Said Natalie, shrugging her

shoulders and walking to her own bedroom.

Emily sighed and got to her feet, walking quietly to Chantelles door and knocking quietly.

Come in Was the soft reply she got

Its just me Said Emily in a quiet voice

I knew it was you Natalie is probably blaming this on someone else so she doesnt think shes

done anything wrong Said Chantelle sitting back and saying it like it was a routine

Pretty much Replied Emily closing the door.

Figures She replied

Look, Chantelle, this time she just wants whats best for you ok, Brodon is someone who youvegrown close to, but have you taken the time to know and understand him a lot better? Asked Emily

Yes, of course I like him a lot and I want him to be a part of my life someday Said Chantelle

Well, I support you, as long as youre happy, then Im happy and you know that Natalie will come

around she always does, so just think positive maybe invite him over for lunch tomorrow and

invite a few mates so we can all get to know each other? Suggested Emily

Yeah, I guess that could be fun Ill ask him Said Chantelle before texting Brodon quickly and

receiving a reply shortly after. He said yes, hes keen said Chantelle grinning.

Great, well Ill go and get some things ready then, Ill talk to you later Said Emily with a smile

before walking out the door.

Emily walked out of the house and across the road to the local supermarket, grabbing a few packets

of chips, some dips, drinks and then just other little snacks before then heading over and getting

meat and anything else she needed.

Oh, Im sorry Said a young boy who walked into her, knocking a few things from her hands to the

ground.

Crap, its fine, dont worry about it She replied with a smile, leaning down at the same time as he

did to pick the stuff up and slightly touching his hand.

Here He said with a warm smile, handing her a packet of chips from the ground

Thanks Replied Emily, taking them back.

My name is Reece He said

Hi, Im Emily She replied, going a little shy

Its nice to meet you he said

yeah, same here well, I had better go, I guess I will see you around said Emily, shifting everything

into one hand so she could shake his.

Reece took hold of her hand and shook it softly sure, see you around he said, letting go of her

hand and walking away with a quick smile.

Emily grinned, mostly to herself and then went and paid for everything and then went back over

home.

Whats all this for? Asked Natalie, when she walked out as Emily started packing stuff away

Oh really who? Asked Natalie, helping to put stuff away

Youll have to wait and see She replied grinning

Are there going to be hot guys? asked Natalie hopeful

I reckon there will be mostly guys and Im sure that they might look pretty good Said Emily

Well, I cant wait Said Natalie walking off to her bedroom.

Do you want some help with tea? Asked Chantelle, walking out to see Emily fixing some food.

No, its fine, itll be ready in about 15 minutes Replied Emily.

But you always do everything, its like youre our mother Said Chantelle, putting out 3 plates,

knifes and forks on the table.

Well, I dont mind, I mean, I am the kind of person that happily does everything Said Emily with a

smile

Well, why dont you take a break for once, I will make you a lovely breakfast in the morning Said

Chantelle with a grinDo you even know how to cook? Asked Emily with a giggle

that is why they have Google its not that hard to make pancakes from a pancake shake mixture

Said Chantelle with a chuckle

Well, Im sure youll find a way to screw it up Said Emily bursting into laughter

Thats not funny! Said Chantelle trying hard to contain her own laughter.

Its a little funny Said Natalie, taking a seat in her usual spot at the table

I know how to cook Said Chantelle sitting down

Well find out tomorrow Said Emily, sitting down and beginning to eat her tea.

The next morning everyone woke up around 9:30am and began cleaning up the house.

What time are they coming? Asked Natalie cheerfully

Around 11:30-ish replied Chantelle looking a little confused

She doesnt know whos coming yet Whispered Emily as she past

Do you know whos coming Chantelle? Emily wont tell me Said Natalie with a chuckle

Well, my guess is about as good as yours I dont know many of the people coming Said Chantelle,

picking her words carefully

Its a surprise Said Emily, leaving the room with a grin.

When 11:00am came quickly by, Chantelle picked up her phone to see a text message from Brodon.

Hey, we will be over in about 20 minutes, there is 8 of us, is that ok? Xx it said

Chantelle smiled to herself and handed her phone quickly to Emily and let her read the message.

Emily nodded softly to Chantelle and smiled while Natalie was looking in a cupboard.

Chantelle smiled back and then quickly replied to Brodon. yes, that is fine, see you soon! Xx she

sent.

Ok, Natalie and Chantelle, you guys had better start getting ready our guests will be here soon;

there is 8 of them Said Emily, walking towards her bedroom.

Natalie quickly hurried off to her bedroom and began to get into the clothes she had picked out last

night before she went to bed. She quickly put on her layered black skirt that went to her knees and

her plain, thin beige shirt with sleeves that went to her elbows. Once she convinced herself it was

ok, she slipped on a pair of black ballet flats and moved onto her hair, straightening it and letting halfof it sit over the front of her shoulders and then putting a hot pink flower in her hair, then put on

some light makeup, just basic mascara and eyeliner, some lip gloss then finished it all with a nice

necklace with an N on it and some long dangling ear rings.

Emily moved over to her wardrobe and pulled out her dark blue denim shorts with a plain white shirt

and a black wind cheater; then putting her hair in a high bun and applying a small amount of makeup

and then going to put some food outside.

Chantelle looked at all the clothes in her wardrobe and contemplated before finally deciding that

she would wear her black dress that sat tightly over her thighs with some black shoes with a small

heel on them. She plaited her hair over the side of her shoulder and then put on some eye liner and

mascara with a silver dangling pair of ear rings and a heart necklace then walked out of her room

and into the kitchen to Emily.

Wow, its just a small get together hun she said with a chuckle

Thats ok I need to make an impression on him She replied winking

A few minutes later there was a knock on the door.

Ill get it! Called Natalie, rushing to the door and quickly looking herself over in the mirror, fixing

her hair and then opening the door as Chantelle and Emily reached her. oh god muttered Nataliewhen she saw Brodon standing there.

Chantelle grinned when she saw him and her heart beat automatically began to race. He looked

amazing and he was dressed just like any other day, ripped shorts and a loose shirt.

Hi He muttered quickly, looking to Chantelle

Come on in Said Emily with a smile as everyone began to file in.

Natalie closed the door after them, looked quickly to Chantelle ad then walked outside without

saying a word to anyone.

Emily smiled to everyone and gasped lightly to herself when someone walked into her and then

placed their hands on her waist momentarily.

Well, we seem to be bumping into each other frequently he whispered with a chuckle.

Emily grinned and tried to hide it, acting all cool and calm Reece isnt it? She asked, already

knowing exactly who it was

Yeah, and youre Emily he said with a chuckle

You remembered She said

How could I forget? He asked with a grin

Uh, Em? Called Chantelle

Yeah? Called Emily, prying her eyes from Reeces eyes with a smile and walking over to her

So this is uh Brodon, you can introduce everyone again Said Chantelle with a chuckle

Brodon grinned and pointed to the first person. Well, this is Connor, Brad, Mitch, Dion, Simon, Liv

and Reece He said pointing to each person in turn. Guys, This is Chantelle and this is Emily, the

other girl is Natalie he said.

Each of the guys smiled and said hey in return before everyone began to walk outside and join in

conversations with the girls.

Natalie began to lighten up and put on a happy face and talk to everyone, except Brodon, Emily and

Chantelle.

So thank you for coming Said Chantelle, smiling at Brodon when they were sitting alone on two

chairs

Thanks for inviting me, Im glad I came He replied with a smile

Im glad youve come too Said Chantelle, biting her lipOh really, why is that? He asked with a small smile

Well because I get to see you She replied looking down

Well, youre the reason I came here today; I just wanted to see you He replied, sitting his hand on

top of hers and smiling brightly.

Chantelle looked him in the eye and smiled, standing up and taking hold of his hand, smiling even

more brightly, as she leaned in and their lips inches apart

Hey, uhh, Chantelle, can you help me carry some stuff out? Oh sorry Said Natalie when she

realised what was happening.

Chantelle leaned away quickly and smiled. sure She said walking away from Brodon slowly.

Sorry, I didnt mean to I didnt realise Said Natalie when they were inside

Its fine, dont worry about it Said Chantelle with a smile, grabbing a few plates of food and helping

Natalie to take them back outside to the table that was sitting out there. When she looked up, all the

boys and Emily were in the pool with only their shorts on and Emily had her bikini on.

Im going to get changed Said Natalie, hurrying inside

You coming in? Asked Emily when she noticed Chantelle

She scanned the people in the pool, Brodon wasnt there. Uh, yeah, ok, give me a minute to getchanged she said hurrying in and getting her new unit bikinis on and jumping off the edge of the

pool, causing water to go everywhere. When she broke the surface, a familiar set of hands took hold

of her waist and turned her around before his lips softly crushed hers.

Brodon held Chantelle to him by keeping his hands on her waist and didnt break the kiss for a while

until the boys eruption of cheers finally reached their ears that they snapped back into reality and

separated with a huge grin.

Well, didnt see that one coming Muttered Natalie sarcastically with a grin

Chantelle laughed a little embarrassed as everyone seemed to be staring at her and Brodon, but

looking into his amazing eyes just felt like right now was the safest time and place.

So, I guess we got that out of the way Said Brodon, leaning in and kissing her again.

Chantelle laughed and kissed him back softly before going back to everyones attention and enjoying

a good swim that lasted about an hour.

When the clouds began to move over everyone decided it was time to get out of the pool now, so

Emily got out first and went inside to bring out a heap of towels for everyone to get dry and put all

their clothes in the dryer while they just stood around with their towels wrapped around them.

So, you live out here yet weve never met Said Reece, walking up behind Emily when she was in

the laundry

Yeah, I guess should we have met by now? Asked Emily with s smirk

Well, Im sure I would remember a face like yours He said biting his lip

Emily blushed and looked away to hide it. Why would I be someone to be remembered? She asked

Well, because you look really.. pretty He muttered, trying to find the right word

Emily chuckled You really think Im pretty? She asked, biting her lip

Of course I do He replied stepping closer and closing the door so they were out of the view of

everyone else.

Emily smiled and leaned down to grab the clothes from the dryer, So what ones are yours? She

asked smiling up at Reece

Reece grinned and leant his hand into the pile of clothes, knocking Emily back a little and causing her

to slip and grab the only thing that she could hold when she couldnt find Reeces hand his towel.

Where is Emily? Asked Chantelle looking around

I dont know, I thought she was in the laundry, I saw her talking to Reece said Brodon looking

towards the closed door.

Maybe theyre still in there Said Chantelle walking up towards the door. When she reached the

door she could hear hurried apologies from Emily and laughter from Reece.

Im sorry, Im sorry, crap! called Emily

Its fine Said Reece still laughing

Uh, guys? Said Chantelle opening the door slowly

Uh, what? Said Emily walking right up to the door to block the way inside

Well, we were getting worried, we couldnt find you Said Chantelle

Oh, give me a sec, I like tripped Reece over and he is getting changed so Im turning away

Stuttered Emily, causing Reece to burst into laughter.

Uh, ok Said Chantelle with a confused look on her face before she pulled the door closed and

walked away.

Emily turned and found Reece standing right behind her, his face centimetres from hers until hefinally let his lips softly touch hers

Emily stood back and smiled at Reece, not knowing what to say so she opened the door and took all

the clothes out to the guys.

After a few minutes, everyone seemed to be all dressed and comfortable now, chatting amongst

themselves.

Emily tried to avoid Reece, but their gaze kept meeting from across the room and they smiled

warmly at each other. Emily grinned to herself; the kiss was purely amazing, there was nothing like it

at all.

So, do you want to explain what has happened to make you all so happy? Asked Chantelle sitting

down beside Emily

Huh? What? I dont know what youre talking about Said Emily avoiding Reece now.

Its that Reece guy did something happen between you both? She asked looking excited

What? No, why would it? Asked Emily biting her lip

Because you and him are obviously into each other a whole lot Said Chantelle like she was stating

a fact

No, nothing, youre just thinking of it as a different kind of thing Said Emily trying to laugh it off

I know you Emily. What happened? Asked Chantelle sternly

We kissed She muttered.

Hey Bro, whats going on with you and Emily? Asked Brodon, hitting Reece playfully in the arm

What do you mean? Asked Reece finally peeling his eyes from her beautiful face

You two went into that laundry room together and came out a little while later all different Said

Brodon

So that automatically means something happened? Replied Reece

I know you dude and I know something did happen Said Brodon with a chuckle

We kissed Said Reece softly looking down.

So why arent you over there now giving her some Mastin-magic? Replied Brodon chuckling

So am I, go and talk to herand then take her somewhere private and talk some more if you have

to Said Brodon, slapping him on the shoulder as he passed and went to Chantelle who had just

finished talking with Emily.

Hey, Emily, do you want to go and talk? Asked Reece softly as he made his way slowly to her

Yeah, lets go to my room, its quieter she said with a smile and then led the way.

Once in the room Reece turned to say something but Emily had already crushed her lips to his with

force and pushed him towards the bed where they layed and kissed for what seemed like hours.

so, uh, what did you want to talk about? Said Emily with a chuckle

I think you have covered everything Replied Reece with a smile

So, I think we should get to know each other a little bit Said Emily

Well, what do you want to know? Asked Reece

How old are you? She asked

I have 3 sisters, 1 is older, the other 2 younger He said

Really? Do you play instruments? she asked

Yeah, a few things here and there, guitar, drums, piano, bass and I sing He said

Wow, you will have to give me a private concert one day Said Emily with a chuckle

Ill give you a private thing any day He replied

Emily giggled and leaned her face in and let their lips meet once again.

Natalie looked around at everyone, Emily and Reece were doing who knows what, Chantelle and

Brodon were sitting together and then that just left her to sit by herself.

Hey Said one of the guys

Hi Replied Natalie

Im Dion He said with a smile

Im Natalie She replied smiling

So, you dont talk very much? He said

Normally Im always talking but I was set up, you see I dont approve of Brodon at all, but now

theyre together She muttered absentmindedly.

Why do you not approve of Brodon? Asked Dion

He just isnt right for her she has her entire life ahead of her and then she decides to waste it on

him She said

You know, maybe you should get to know him a bit, he isnt what you think Said Dion

Well, I just want her to make the right decisions, not these decisions She muttered

But you dont know how they feel about each other He replied

I know that but she can do so much better than him She stated

Look, Ive known Brody for a long time now and you should get to know him; he isnt what youthink, ok? He is right for her and you need to see that because Chantelle may not understand your

It was my pleasure Said Emily with a warm smile, kissing Reece softly as he walked by.

Cant you stay? Muttered Chantelle, leaning her head on Brodons warm chest

I cant, I promised the boys, but I will come and see you tomorrow Said Brodon, leaning down and

placing his lips on Chantelles momentarily.

Ok, Ill miss you Said Chantelle with pouting lips as she leaned up to kiss him once more before he

left.

Well, that went well Said Emily, smiling brightly as she closed the door and walked to her

bedroom.

So you obviously knew who was coming all along Said Natalie, sitting on the couch whenChantelle walked past

Yeah, I did She replied sitting on the chair opposite her

So why did you keep it a secret? Asked Natalie looking hurt

Because you wouldve avoided it all or made us cancel it somehow Said Chantelle

So that is how you guys think of me? Asked Natalie

Chantelle sighed Look, Natalie, we love you but you need to give us some space; you need to give

Brodon a chance okay, just try to get to know him because he is now a part of my life and if youre

going to make me chose between him and you then I guess I will be moving out. You make the

decision. She stated with an angry look on her face as she stormed off to her bedroom leaving

Natalie with a hurt look on her face and tears forming in her eyes.

Emily logged onto her Facebook and began going through her notifications when she got a friend

request from Reece Mastin; she accepted it quickly and then smiled from the inbox he had sent.

I miss you

A few minutes later Emily received a notification saying Reece Mastin has sent you a relationship

request Emily smiled and accepted it straight away and was then bombed with comments and

inboxes from a heap of people. One stood out extremely well. It was from a girl named Ellen.

Ellen: Hey, Im very happy for you and Reece! I am his girl-best-friend so I thought I would give you

the talk so yeah, Reece is a very generous and amazing person, I think you and him will be just right

together and make sure you treat him right because I know he will treat you right, he is that kind of

guy and when he tells you something, he really does mean it. Cant wait to meet you sometime, I

know youll be great to him

Emily: Wow, I really didnt expect anything like this, but Im so happy that you take care of Reece

like this; he is an amazing person and Im so happy to be with him, he is already making me so much

happierEllen: Im glad, Im sure well be seeing a fairbit of each other then

Emily: I cant wait to meet you

Chantelle sat on the end of her bed just wondering if she said the right thing to Natalie. How could

she choose between her best friend for 7 years and her boyfriend who she got with today? It would

be natural to go with Natalie but Brodon on the other hand was so much more understanding and

he just didnt judge anyone the way Natalie was judging him. Why was this so difficult?

Natalie walked to her room and lay on her bed, trying not to cry but the more she tried not to the

quicker it forced its way out. Her best friend was choosing someone who she barely knew over her

if it was Natalie in that position; shed choose Chantelle over absolutely anything; even her own

family. What had happened to their friendship?

Chantelle paced around her room, biting her fingernails without really noticing all the while thinking

about her decision. It was a few minutes later that her phone began to vibrate continuously.

Hello? Spoke Chantelle quietlyGuess who? Chuckled a familiar voice

Oh, I dont know; hello mum Said Chantelle sarcastically

Oh, so now Im a chick Said Brodons now normal voice

No, youre mine; thats all there is to it She said

Well, I just wanted to tell you that Im missing you a whole lot and I cant wait to see you again He

muttered

hmmm, sounds like a plan she chuckled.

Natalie could hear Chantelle laughing on the phone in her room and it made her cry more to think

that she was losing her absolute best friend to something as pointless as boys. She didnt understand

why they were letting some boy come between them. Their friendship was now almost finished.

Emily replied to everyone who had inboxed her and commented on her relationship change status as

quickly as she could when Reece began texting her.

Chantelle woke up rather early and looked at her clock it was 7am, so she quietly got out of bed and

headed into the bathroom to have a quick shower and get dressed. By the time she was done it was

7:50am so she went out to get some breakfast.

Morning Muttered Emily in a soft voice walking out into the kitchen minutes after Chantelle sat

down and began eating

Hey, I didnt wake you did i? Asked Chantelle

No, I have been awake for a while, Im going out at 9 so I thought I should get up and start getting

ready She said smiling and getting some food for breakfast

Where are you going that early? Asked Chantelle

Im going to go and see Reece and hang out with him for a bit Smiled Emily quickly eating her

breakfast.

Im going out to see Brodon today, I dont know what Natalie is up to Said Chantelle, getting up

from her seat and placing her dishes in the sink and rinsing them off.

Well, I have left a note for Natalie, and Im off now Said Emily looking at the clock on the wall thatnow said 9am

Ok, Im just waiting for Brodon to arrive and then Im leaving too Said Chantelle waving as Emily

left the house and got in the parked car with Reece inside out the front.

Chantelle walked quietly upstairs, took her phone out of her pocket and put it in her handbag along

with her wallet, deodorant and put her sunnies on her head and went out the front door and over to

Brodon who was waiting on the doorstep.

Good morning my beautiful angel said Brodon, pulling her into a hug

When Chantelle realised where her and Brodon were beginning to go, she hesitated and pulled out

of their kissing.

Brodon smiled calmly at her and put his hands on her waist, slowly sliding them up each side of her

body and pulling her shirt over her head.

Wait, Brodon Muttered Chantelle biting her lip. She wasnt ready

Whats wrong? He asked, kissing her neck softly

smile, making her feel off mushy inside. She sighed and then bit her lip for a few seconds before

ready, but she went along with it anyway.

Natalie looked at the clock, 6pm and still neither of the girls had come home yet; all day she had

been waiting for them and as the minutes went by she began to get angry.

Finally She muttered to herself when the front door opened at 8:35pm; it was Emily.

The next morning Chantelle woke up at 9:30am and decided that she would go and finally talk to

Natalie; but when she knocked on the door and got no answer, she walked in quietly to see she

wasnt in there and after looking around for five minutes, she found a note on the table.

Chantelle sighed, put the phone down and then walked over to the fridge to find Emily had already

made pancakes for breakfast.

Natalie picked up her phone and looked at the time; 3:30pm.

standing up for myself and telling her She said, storming off to her room and sitting on the end of

After a few minutes she quietly walked to her door to get her phone from the kitchen and as she

walked past Natalies door she could hear both Emily and Natalie talking.

Im coming over, I have no where else to go xx she wrote back, tears now falling down her face.

She got the note pad from the fridge and a pen to leave a note for Emily and Natalie.

Emily and Natalie both walked out of the bedroom together and over to Chantelles door and

knocked three times softly. When there was no reply Emily walked in.

Chantelle? She muttered, but there was no one there.

Where would she be? I didnt hear her leave the room Said Natalie looking in the empty bedrooms

and bathroom.

The girls walked into the lounge room and then into the kitchen where they found the note.

Oh god, do you think she heard us talking? Muttered Emily biting her lip

Yeah, her cars gone I will call Reece and ask if Brodon is with him.That may be a good idea Muttered Natalie, getting her phone out and calling Chantelles number.

Chantelle shook her head slightly and lay her head on Brodons chest

Well, her and Natalie had a fight then she overheard a conversation between Natalie and I and she

has left, we dont know where she is Said Emily, sobbing lightly

By 7:30pm both Natalie and Emily agreed that they wouldnt find her tonight, so they went to

McDonalds to get some tea.

Once there and waiting to order, they saw Dion and Brodon walk in the door, followed by Chantelle

who then turned around and hurried back out, pulling Brodon who then dragged Dion back out.

What? Asked Dion when they hurried to the car

Emily and Natalie are in there Said Chantelle getting in the back seat

Brodon hurried in the drivers door and started the car, while Chantelle locked all the doors

Chantelle began to silently cry and tried to hide it as the hurt faces of her friends came to her mind

Brodon turned quickly and saw her crying then walked around to her side of the car when they

arrived at KFC, pulled her out and wrapped his arms all the way around her body, holding her close

and then kissing her softly; letting her cry on him.

After a few minutes, they went inside, ordered some food and not long later they were saying

goodbye to Dion and sitting alone in Brodons house.

Natalie and Emily stayed quiet the whole way home. Their best friend wouldnt talk to them. She

had run off and not spoken. They were obviously losing her.

Natalie decided that she needed to know what was happening, so she texted Dion.

hey, what is wrong with Chantelle? she wrote

you obviously know he replied a few minutes later

Well, yeah, its, me and Emily but why wont she talk to us? she replied

Chantelle decided that after a while of her and Brodon kissing, she needed to talk to someone who

Emily bit her lip and wondered yes... she actually wanted to do this. And with that she smiled and

pulled Reeces head to hers, crushing their lips together and holding him tightly while he pulled her

shirt above her head and kissed her neck, letting his hands run down her bare back, sending shivers

Natalie thought about how horrible the day had turned out after her amazing time with Dion andhow ruined it was by all the drama with Chantelle.

After a while, she decided to text Chantelle and apologise.

Chantelle, I know you may not believe this, but I am so sorry for how I have treated you lately; I

guess I was just jealous of the fact that you, Emily and I cant hang out like we always did now that

youve got a boyfriend. Im sorry for what I said. I didnt actually mean it; you hurt my feelings and I

just said whatever I could because it made me feel better. Please come home. Im so sorry. X

She waited for over 20 minutes and when she finally gave up there was a reply from Chantelle

Sorry just doesnt cover it sometimes she wrote back.

Natalie sighed and began to cry once again. She had lost her best friend now, she just knew it but

wouldnt accept it. She needed Emilys guidance and help, but her and Reece were having some

alone time right now, so she had to find some other way of dealing with it all by herself for now.

The next morning Emily woke up with Reeces arms over her body, keeping here nice and warm. She

smiled and moved closer to him, thinking about last night and smiling uncontrollably.

Morning beautiful He murmured, smiling at her and then kissing the top of her nose.

Good morning my sexy boy She whisperedWell, I dont know about that, but youre simply perfect he said, pulling her closer

After a few minutes, Chantelle walked out of the room with a bag in her hands and walked past

Natalie to the kitchen where she packed a few things inside.

Chantelle, welcome back Said Emily with a smile, walking into the kitchen with Reece

Im leaving She muttered

Can we all sit down and talk? Asked Emily

Nope She replied, getting things from all different places and stuffing them into the bag

Are you going to come back at all? Asked Natalie, looking at the ground

What? Are you moving out? Asked Emily with a shocked look on her face

A few weeks had now past by and the three girls had all began to talk again, but they werent as

strong as they used to be. Chantelle and Brodon had officially moved in together and Brodon, Reece

and Dion were making a special dinner and inviting Emily and Natalie over to try and fix everything.

Chantelle had freaked out when they told her what was happening but in the end agreed to it all.

Natalie and Emily were very excited to be going as it could finally give them the chance to resolve all

the issues between the three of them.

By the time 5:30pm had arrived, all six of them were sitting around a table talking happily, although

Chantelle avoided any conversation with Natalie, she merely smiled and nodded swiftly.

After a while Emily brought up a conversation about a previous holiday the girls had experienced.

Hey, Chantelle, do you remember when we went to Queensland and we were all sitting on the

beach, that really hot and super tanned dude stood near us and put on sunscreen and you ended up

spitting your drink everywhere She said bursting into a fit of laughter with Natalie

Yes, I actually do remember that! And when that drunk girl tried to steal your hairclip Natalie and I

punched her in the face and she had the weirdest cry that sounded like a whale She replied in a fit

of laughterYes, and when Emily, you tried to chat up some guy by telling him you were the business owner of a

real high tech corporate place and it turned out he was in fact the business owner so you were like I

meant the French version and tried to use a fake French accent but it sounded American Said

Natalie, tears of laughter pouring down her face.

That conversation there made them all friends again, finally and they all felt as though everything

was back to normal again.

When dinner finally ended, everyone left in a happy state and the girls were still laughing together

as they left. The guys all felt as though they had succeeded and Dion and Reece decided to leave

quickly incase Chantelle began to rage.

So, how was tonight? Asked Brodon, hugging her tightly

It was great, thank you She replied, kissing him quickly

Well, Im very glad you liked it; because it turned out perfect He said smiling

Its not perfect yet She muttered, leaning up and kissing him softly before leading him to their

bedroom.

So tonight was great Said Natalie as her, Dion, Reece and Emily walked through the door

Tonight went perfectly, Im so happy with the way it turned out Said Reece, hugging Emily tightly

Said Emily with a small smile before hurrying to the bedroom with Reece by her side; once inside the

bedroom, they began furiously kissing and then made their way to the bed

The next day everyone was meeting up in town and spending the day together. When Brodon and

Chantelle arrived the place was crowded; but they could see everyone sitting there.

Chantelle looked at all the familiar faces and smiled, Reece, Emily, Natalie, Dion, Connor, Ellen, Liv,

No, Im fine, just a little tired; you kept me up all night She muttered with a giggle, kissing him

When the movie came to an end, everyone went out of the cinema and broke off into groups all

looking in different shops.

Hey gorgeous, lets look in here Said Reece, kissing Emily on the cheek and leading the way into a

jewellery store.

Wow Muttered Emily when she saw all the stuff.

Well, I think I will buy you something Muttered ReeceNo way, dont do that Said Emily hugging him tightly.

I want to Said Reece going to look at necklaces while Emily made her way to some charm bracelet

special they had going. Buy 2 get one free.

After 5 minutes, she had brought them and gotten a few letters put on them R, E, D, N, C, B and

then put one on her wrist and put the others in her bag for the other girls.

Reece came out of the shop behind her and quickly put a silver heart necklace around her neck

Its beautiful, I love it She muttered, kissing him before the girls all came back.

Here, I got these for us Said Emily, handing one to Chantelle and the other to Natalie

wow, thank you so much, theyre amazing Said Chantelle, pulling Natalie and Emily in for a hug. It

was their first embrace since before their fight so it meant a lot of course.

Thank you Em, I love it so much Said Natalie, fastening it on her wrist while Chantelle did the

same.

The girls and Reece crossed the empty street to where everyone else was standing on the other side

while Chantelle and Brodon hugged tightly

I want to tell you something really important, I have wanted to tell you for a while now but I

Chantelle smiled and kissed him, her eyes tearing up with happiness. I love you She muttered,

kissing him slowly and making it last before they began to cross the street; but Chantelles bracelet

fell off, so she picked it up and put it on, Everyone was all watching from the other side, waiting for

her she took 3 steps and looked to Brodon before the car hit her.

She smashed the windscreen and landed on the road, blood on the car and all over her. She blinked

5 times, a single tear falling from her eye as she looked one last time to Brodon and then her eyes

closed.

Emily walked inside the white room, the steady beeping noise, continuous in the background and

there she lay, still as ever, like she had for the last 8 days, no movement, no sign of waking up. Then

he sat there, never taking his eyes from her, never leaving her; Brodon looked so helpless and there

was nothing that could help except that Chantelle wake up before it was too late.

Reece walked in silently behind her and placed his hands on her hips, spinning her around and thenkissing her.

Theyre doing it now Muttered Reece as Chantelles doctor walked in the door; followed by some

other doctors.

Hello guys, I know how difficult this all is but we need to talk about where we go next Said the

doctor

Yeah, is there any good news? Asked Natalie, walking through the door with Dion

Im afraid not Said the doctor, looking around at each of them. She is getting in a much worse

state as each day goes by and were unsure as to why that is happeningbut weve had thorough

research done and there is only a 17% chance that she will wake up and only a 2% chance that she

will be perfectly fine and the longer she is in this state, the more those percentages drop He said,

looking around at everyones shocked faces

So, what are you proposing we do? Asked Reece when no one had repliedI know how hard it will be, but maybe let her go in whatever peace she has left He said, looking

mainly at Brodon, who was staring at Chantelles resting face

No we cant abandon her shes in there somewhere and she is waiting for us she needs us as

much as we need her. We have to just give her a chance she is a strong person Cried Natalie, tears

streaming down her face

She is extremely strong to have made it this far, but in my honest opinion, she will not wake up

from this Said the doctor

How long do we have to decide this? Asked Dion, hugging Natalie.

Well, as soon as possible Said the Doctor before walking out of the room.

Everyone turned and looked at Brodon for a reaction but he was instead silently crying and holding

her hand.

Emily leant away from Reeces embrace and placed a hand on Brodons shoulder, letting him cry on

her own shoulder and let them soothe each other.

Natalie had made her way to Chantelle and was hugging her tightly and muttering in her ear Please

come back, Chantelle we need you dont leave please, we love you and you cant just go, please

stay, fight, wake up, I know you can do it; dont leave us She said

Throughout the hectic day, a heap of people came in the hospital room and cried over the person

they knew; they were all saying good bye to someone they loved.

One at a time, family and friends moved in, hugged her and kissed her forehead, told her how

beautiful and amazing she was and told her how much they loved her.

They knew she could hear them because her heart beat would speed up a little when someone she

was close to talked or touched her. Mostly Brodon when he would lean in and softly kiss her lips

When 6:30pm came by, everyone except for Brodon, Emily, Natalie, Reece and Dion left the room

while the doctor turned off all the machines except her heart monitor. Her heart rate dropped a

little when the machines went off but she was still there, which surprised the doctor; but then he

left and gave them all privacy.

Reece went towards her first; leaned down and placed his lips to her cheek for a second and then

hugged her. Just before he walked away, someone walked into the room someone who had onlyjust found out that Chantelle was not going to make it. Bec.

Bec, Im sorry, I forgot to call you Muttered Natalie

But Bec had hurried over to Chantelle and hugged her; crying and telling her how much she loved

her and just how amazing she was. It was 10 minutes later that she walked out, not wanting to be

there when it happened.

Dion moved over and hugged Chantelle then whispered in her ear Thank you for everything, I will

miss you greatly He muttered and then walked out of the room with Reece.

Natalie went next; standing over her and holding her hand, trying to stop from crying while saying

her final good bye Chantelle, weve been through so much, and Im so happy we had everything

sorted out between us Emily and I are not going to be able to cope properly without you nothing

will be the same and I love you so much. Youve been so strong. And youre lucky to have Brodon

with you; he has been with you all this time, never leaving your side for anything. Good bye, i'm

happy we met and were best friends and got to spend all those amazing times together, bye She

muttered through tears before kissing her forehead and exiting the room.

Emily stood silently for a moment and then walked to Chantelle, took her hand and brushed her face

softly I dont know how to say good bye I dont want to say good bye youre my best friend and Idont want to live without you why cant you wake up? Why cant you come back? She muttered,

leaning down to kiss her forehead. You will always have a place in my heart that is just for you; and

I am never going to go a day without having your face in my mind, I love you and I always will good

bye She whispered, closing her eyes for a moment and hugging her again before walking to Brodon,

placing a hand on his shoulder and then walking silently from the room and into Reeces arms where

she could finally start crying now, knowing that Reece would keep her safe.

Brodon looked to his girlfriend and held her hand firmly. Chantelle, youve been my mate for a long

time; and I have been so honoured to have been your boyfriend, its been the best thing in my life

and Im so happy to be called yours. I love you and I always will, I will never be able to love anyone

the way I love you. I just wish you would wake up so I could see your amazing eyes again; hear your

voice just one more time and feel your lips against mine. He said. There was a jump in her

heartbeat, so there wasnt much time left.

Brodon stood up and pulled her into a hug, placing his lips on hers and listening to her heartbeats

when all of a sudden, her hand twitched and lightly tightened around his hand, causing him to smile

before he heard her last heartbeat through her chest and her body go completely limp. She was

gone.

No one had slept properly, they all just laid there in bed, wishing everything was just a joke and a

bad dream, but it wasn't. Chantelle was gone, and today they were saying their good bye. It was a

pure blue sky, not a cloud in the sight. Birds flying and singing, and 5 people were all sitting at the

kitchen table with nothing to say, but they all thought about one thing.

One by one they got up from the table and walked to their bedrooms to get ready.

Emily had her outfit out already and put it on carefully. It was a black dress that went to her knees,

along with a black cardigan and black heels.

Reece got into some black pants and shoes before putting on a white button up shirt and a black

jacket over the top.

Natalie looked in the mirror at her outfit and contemplated about changing it. She was wearing a

black shirt and cardigan along with a tight knee lengths skirt with stockings and heels.

Dion sat in the spare bedroom for a moment before getting into his black pants and shirt, not

worrying about putting his jacket on just yet.

Lastly, Brodon sat on the end of his bed and held a framed photograph in his hand with hearts and

love written around it. Inside the frame there was a picture of Brodon looking happy while he smiled

down at the one thing in the world he loved most and while she stared back at him just as happy.

Brodon sighed and put the photo down and began to let silent tears fall down as he got into his

clothes for today.

When everyone was completely ready, they went into Chantelle and Brodon's room and each took

something that would keep her with them for today. Brodon took the photograph, Natalie took

Chantelle's favourite necklace, Emily took a friendship charm from the first bracelet she had gotten

for Chantelle. Reece took Chantelle's favourite guitar pick and explained that "there is more to music

than the instrument you're playing, you have to connect somehow" and he held up the pick to prove

that. Dion had already chosen something the day before, when he found a letter Chantelle had given

him when him and Natalie were getting close and she gave him the friend talk.

As 10:00am rolled slowly by, everyone got into Brodons car and drove to the cemetery funeral

home.

Once there, they were greeted by the lady who was running the funeral today.

"Hello guys" she said in a warming smile

"Hello" said Emily before everyone followed the lady inside where everything was set out

beautifully.

Chantelle had wanted a great funeral, not a traditional one, but a proper one, so everyone had done

their best to make it how she wanted.

There were flowers around the casket with its lid open, which is where Brodon went straight to

without hesitation. There was a screen set up for a slide show later on.

As Brodons approached, he took a deep breath and then choked it out when he saw her laying

there peacefully. He fell to his knees and cried softly until Reece put his hands on Brodons shoulders

and pulled him to his feet.

"Mate, this will be ok" said Reece

"I love her so much, and she is gone" said Brodons softly while tears still fell.

"I know, and she loves you the same way man, she does, you take as much time as you need, we are

going to wait outside." Said Reece before walking out the door to everyone while Brodon said his

final good bye.

When it was finally time for people to begin arriving, Emily went to stand beside Reece, trying to

brush away her quiet tears, she hugged him tightly and took a deep breath, hoping that she would

stay silent, but after a slight hiccup, she began crying hard on his shoulder while he comforted her.

Em, I love you and I promise you that everything is going to all be ok he muttered, leaning down to

kiss her forehead softly.

As Bec was amongst the first few to arrive, she walked to Brodon first, hugging him as they both

cried out on each other. After a few agonising moments, people began to then make their way inside

and line up; all taking turns at saying good bye to a person who meant so much to them.

When each person had finally taken their seats; Brodon, Reece, Emily, Natalie, Dion and Bec all sat

up the front, looking at the casket that hold someone special, someone they would never see again.

When the lights dimmed, the first song began to play and everyone could just sit back and

remember all their memories A drop in the ocean one of her most dear favourites. As the song

came to an end, a lady who looked around 40, took to the platform and cleared her voice.

Hello ladies and gentlemen, my name is Judy and I will take great honour in commencing this

ceremony for you all today she said, as she went through introducing herself and speaking about

Chantelle nicely.

I have got a few little letters, written by some people who have made a huge impact on this girl,

and they would like me to read them in behalf to Chantelle. She said, pulling out a few pieces of

paper and setting them out in order.

Chantelle, we have been best friends since we were younger. So young I can barely remember how

we met. But as I look back I can see how clear it all was. We were sitting in kinder garden after our

lunch and I was playing with the blocks but you wanted them, so you took them from me and

destroyed my tower; causing us to engage in a fight, while Emily came between us and stopped us.

The three of us have been best friends since and its always been like that day. We always fight and

Emily comes between and saves us all, making us stronger. I dont know how to live past that. Isthere really a way? Will I ever stop missing you this much? Like my heart is beating so quickly, that

its right up against my chest and bursting to come out. If that were possible, I would leave my heart

with you, because youre the best friend I could ever ask for and I thank you for breaking my tower

all those years ago we would never have been so close if it wasnt for that day. I love you forever

and I will never forget you or stop missing you, I will celebrate you because youre worth celebrating.

Love always, Natalie she read slowly and carefully, emphasising a lot of the words to give it more

meaning.

Natalie tried to sit still while sobbing into Dions shoulder and taking some comfort in him; not

wanting all this to be the final good bye. Wanting needing more time for someone she had loved

so dearly.

After a small moment, Judy moved on to the next letter, speaking just as soft and slow, giving each

word a meaning.

My best friend, you dont actually know how much I would look up to you as we grew up how

much I wanted to be like you; getting all the cute boys and having them fall at your feet, even in

prep until you met Brodon and I knew you had found the perfect guy and I couldnt of been more

right. You lived your life to the best of your abilities and I will always look at you like a role model.

Im never going to let a single fabulous memory falter from my mind; even the small ones, are now

locked inside a vault in my mind. I wish you werent leaving me, I am not going to cope with you

gone, I dont know what to do now, I dont have you keeping me grounded, driving me and you to

the beach where we would just talk about everything in our spot and become closer. Youre so

amazing and youre always on my mind, I know I can move forward with you by my side and be

happy some day without you. Youre amazing; I will always miss and love you until the end of time.

Love Emily. She finished, then waiting a small amount of time, to let everyone focus.

Emily had her arms wrapped tightly around Reece and her eyes shut tight, trying not to sob really

loud while Reece slowly moved his hand up and down her back and silently crying himself.

Next we have a letter from Chantelles mother, who left this but is not attending today said Judy

softly.

Emily looked up and then quickly to Natalie, who cried and shrugged her shoulders. Chantellesmother had not had everything to do with Chantelle since she turned 17, and she was now 19.

you. If only I had been the mother I should have been and loved you like I should of. Maybe I

wouldnt feel so terrible about it. I want you to know I have never stopped loving you one little bit

Now, the final letter I have here, is from a person Chantelle has known for a very long time and they

became so close as friends that they began dating; so this is Brodons final good bye.

Chantelle, my light, my life, my energy, my everything. I ask just one thing why? Why was it you?

Was it really just fate? Was it meant to be? Who knows all I know is that I can never wake up next

to my beautiful girlfriend ever again; never share my every thoughts with you not spend every day

of my life with you why? You were the most amazing and important thing in my life and you were

carrying my child something we were going to explain to our friends within just moments ofeverything spiralling out of control and now youre gone, it took that long as I stayed by your side

with your final minutes, I could connect with you, I could tell you everything and then in your final

seconds, you found strength to squeeze my hand tightly, like you would when you would tell me you

loved me. And I just knew you were going to be alright; you were going to be fine wherever you

were going and I could keep you with me always. I am never going to forget a moment of the time

we spent together. Its never leaving my mind and I will think of you every single moment of my life

while I just wait to be reunited with you. I love you, I really do and Im so happy I got to tell you that.

I love you and I will never stop. Love forever and a day; until the world stops turning and everything

goes dark, forever. Brodon She said, finishing with his name soft.

Everyone had erupted into a commotion as they took everything in and Brodon began to vey harder,

putting his head between his knees and sobbing while Emily and Natalie moved to sit beside him and

comfort him. Chantelle had been pregnant.
