Making NGH networks and hotspots a commercial reality is one of the key market objectives ofthe Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) in 2013. Therefore the WBA is launching its first-everlive NGH Experience during the Wi-Fi Global Congress (WGC) Beijing with partners ChinaMobile as host operator and Cisco as the network infrastructure provider. This will be the firstever live deployment of a next generation Wi-Fi network at an international conference,offering attendees a real-life experience of seamlessly and automatically connecting to thevenue Wi-Fi. The NGH Experience will consist of a full NGH network in the venue that can beused to demonstrate different innovative services (e.g. location based services), and will alsodemonstrate the full scale of NGH and roaming capabilities on Passpoint certified devices.

About the WBA Founded in 2003, the aim of the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) is to secure an outstanding user experience throughthe global deployment of next generation Wi-Fi. In order to make this a reality, the WBA is currently championing variousinitiatives in the Wi-Fi ecosystem including Next Generation Hotspot (NGH) trials, Wi-Fi Roaming and its Interoperability ComplianceProgram (ICP). Today, membership includes major fixed operators such as BT, Comcast and Time Warner Cable; seven of the top 10mobile operator groups (by revenue) and leading technology companies such as Cisco, Google and Intel. WBA member operatorscollectively serve more than 1 billion subscribers and operate more than 5 million hotspots globally.
