Day 1- Art Using paper, pencils, markers or crayons and some objects from around the
home, you and your family can create some fantastic patterns that will
astound and amaze.
It’s been said that creativity is the key to happiness and that by doing something creative every day, we can boost our moods (and productivity) tremendously. When you are fully immersed in a creative activity, your focus shifts away from day to day worries and stresses as you instead put all your attention on the immediate task at hand.
Some people like to write in a journal while others enjoy baking cookies. Still others express their artistry by arranging fresh cut flowers in a vase…
If you are looking for a simple, non-intimidating way to be creative today, have a peek at the following tutorial. It’s perfect for all ages and uses items you will already have in
your home . When you complete this please show me on ClassDojo, thanks
What You Need: • Paper (8-1/2″ x 11″ or larger) • Pencils • Magic markers or crayons • Rulers or other straight edges (see the example add more lines.) • Round lids from various sized containers (margarine, yogurt, milk caps, etc.) Be sure to
have a nice variety available – ask the kids to bring round items in from home. (Option).
What You Do:
Start by drawing between 12 and 16 straight lines across the paper. They can go in any direction, review the words horizontal (when a line runs side to side, like the horizon), vertical (when a line runs up and down, standing tall) and diagonal (when a line runs on an angle, think of the plane wings.) Make sure you use the same line direction.
Next, place your circular objects (see list above) on the page and start tracing
them. Add as many or as few circles as you like and let them overlap in some
areas.
Now comes the fun part. Grab your watercolor paints – or crayons, pencil
crayons, markers, etc. — whatever you have on hand.
Begin filling in every other space with color. Take your time and don’t panic if you “mess up” just continue on and “go with the flow”. You will have a really
cool picture when you are done.

Day 2- P.E.
Speedy Sun Relay Race K-2
This activity is a good way to help us remember to dress
Sun Wise.
The objective is for one child to model wearing sun wise
clothing. They put on the clothing brought to them as
quickly as they can. This child is the Model.
A second child runs to a pile of clothing and picks out one
item of the sun wise clothing. They run back and give this
choice to the model to put on.
This continues with another child running to the pile and
picking out the next item and running it back to the
model to put on.
Keep this going until the model has all the clothing on.
Children take as many turns as needed to get all of the
clothing to the model.
After the model is dressed completely check to see how
well they did dressing Sun Wise.
If there is enough children divide them up into different
teams and make it a race to see which team can get their
model dressed first.

Day 3- Art
Overlapping shapes
Students will learn about line, shape and color as they create colorful works of art.
What You Need:
• Paper • Pencil • Markers or crayons or colored pencils
What You Do:
The directions for this project are simple.
1) Ask children to draw a variety of overlapping shapes. Geometric, squares, triangles, rectangles, circles, oval. Organic shapes are found in nature or a freeform this can be an unique shape your child drew.
2) Then, encourage them to fill in the blanks with a variety of colors.
I distinguish between three types of shapes: Geometric; Organic (that found in nature); and Free-form. Some students needed to be “encouraged” to add more shapes to their pictures to balance them out. When the drawing (done in pencil) is complete, it can be outlined in a black marker or black crayons
You can use any kind of color scheme you’d like (for example warm colors(red, orange, yellow and pink) for shapes and cool colors(blue, green , purple) for the background). Or, just let your child use any colors of their choice.
The only rules are:
• Students need to use a variety of colors. • Two connecting shapes can’t be the same color. • Each shape section has to be filled in with different colors.
You can create this masterpiece in two art times just like we do at school. Please show me you work on ClassDoJo

Day 4- Music
“Kangaroo and Joey Too.” Originally comes from Australia.
If you’re a kid, have you ever thought about how it might feel to be a parent? To have a child of your own, and make sure that they’re safe and healthy? In this story, we’ll meet an animal mom who goes on a very big adventure to keep her
baby safe. Listen to the story:

Characters in the Story Narrator, Kangaroo Joey Dingo Wombat Things To Think About After Listening
What — or who — in your life do you take care of? Maybe you water plants in a
garden, you tuck your dolls or stuffed toys in at night, or you sometimes keep an
eye on your baby brother or sister.
Find a grown-up and tell them what you do to be a good caretaker, and if you
ever encounter challenges along the way. Then, have them help you dream up a
solution.
You can color your own little Joey and share on Dojo

Day 4- Art
This lesson requires planning and problem solving, much like a math problem or science
experiment. Students will see that scribbles can become much more. Think of the Paul Klee One
line drawing.
What You Need:
• Paper
• Crayons or Markers
What You Do:
1. Ask your child, if they’ve ever made scribble pictures. Earlier in the school year we
studied Paul Klee and he made scribble drawing called one line wonders. (This kind of
scribble is where you make a scribble and fill in the spaces with colors).
2. Today in Art you are being ask to create (make) scribble pictures today, but these
scribble pictures have rules.
3. The first rule is: you can only use three colors. The second rule is: the same color
cannot share a “wall”.(where the lines are touching each other)
4. If your younger students is creating this piece of Art they are encouraged to use the rules
given but if they get upset , it is okay to let the is no need to impose the rules.
5. Help your child to us the whole sheet of paper you can also do this work with them, each
of you make your own scribble. Choose three colors. Talk about which colors you would
like to use. Get your colors remember these are the three you are going to use to complete
this art work. You want to take your time a color in each of the spaces you have made.
6. When it becomes obvious that the students understand the rules, allow them to make their
own scribble pictures. Emphasize that they should fill the paper and make large enough
spaces to color. No teeny, tiny scribbles.
This does not need to be finished all at one time, just like in Art class you can take two days
to finish this.
