Bagby Special Day Class (SDC) 08-09• One FTE SDC Teacher (Jim Bacon)• One 6hr/day Aide & Two 3.75hr/day Aides• 11 K-2 students with significant and

global developmental delays (e.g., Autism, MR, SLI, etc.) Kindergarten = 5 Students; 1st Grade = 3 Students; 2nd Grade = 3 Students Other Bagby SDC Notes:

• In previous years class had 6-8 students (with cap at 10) • Due to increasing numbers class currently serves 11

students• Due to class needs and size the 2nd part-time aide was

added



Bagby Special Day Class (SDC) 09-10• 4 New Kindergarteners (from SDC Pre-K)• 3 New 4th-5th Graders from Sartorette SDC• Potentially 18 Total Bagby SDC Students

Keep 8-10 (out of 18) K-2 Students at Bagby SDC

Fund alternative placements for 8-10 other K-5 students Find and fund other District and/or SCCOE Placements

Avg. Annual Cost Per Student = $23,860 (includes transportation)

Estimated Total Annual Cost = $190,880 - $238,600



Bagby SDC Options for 2009-2010Option 2: Add another SDC at Bagby K-1st Grade SDC = 9 Students 2nd-5th Grade SDC = 9 Students Add 1 FTE SDC Teacher w/ Benefits = $83,077 (avg.)

Add SDC Aide Support (1 6hr/day & 2 3.75hr/day) = $58,715 Annual Instructional Supplies = $500 $142,292 (Total) + 3.5% (Indirect Costs) = $147,272.22 Additional $5,000 for one-time start up costs (furniture, etc.)

Option 2: Add another SDC at Bagby $142,292 (Total) + 3.5% (Indirect Costs) = $147,272.22 Estimated Total Annual Cost = $14,727-$18,409 per student

Additional $5,000 for one-time start up costs (furniture, etc.)
