Karen Melkonian, Report at LargeHe did it. AJ Lyons created that once-in-a-lifetime experience that will stand out in the memories of the Mozart community for years to come. But Mr. Lyons did not do it alone. Together with the International Sports Federation (Kelly Cunniffe, Dafna Flores and Nurse Frasso and its league of volunteers) Mr. Lyons brought together eight countries to participate in such games as running relays, hula hoop relays, scooter board races, soccer and basketball.
The day began with the booming sound of the Olympic theme which played as all of the athletes made their way from the Athlete’s Village onto the field.
Special Report the Mozart “Olympics” -- A day that will be
remembered for years to come
Once the Olympic torch was lit, the President of the International Sports Federation, Principal Brewer, addressed the Olympic athletes encouraging the competitors to have fun. And then -- the games began.
This first grader’s face tells it all.
