Below are courses that are offered at Terra Cotta Conservation Area, Halton Hills and Adamson Estate, Port Credit. Species Identification How do you tell a wolf from a coyote? Or the song of a robin compared to a cardinal? Come meet some of the species that live right here in your own backyard! Learn to recognize animal tracks and scat, bird calls and plants. You’ll use real specimen and encounter real wildlife. Will you be able to identify what you see? Run time: Half day (3 hours) Leadership Skills What does it take to succeed in the workplace? Many employers seek strong leadership skills that are adaptable in today’s ever-changing world. Through experiential learning, you’ll gain the skills and attitudes that will help you build your own leadership style. Run time: Half day (3 hours) Compass/Map/GPS Whether you have a natural sense of direction or not, by the end of this course you’ll be able to find your way anywhere. You’ll learn how to use a GPS through a fast- paced geocaching challenge, the basics of map interpretation and navigation skills. Run time: Full day (6 hours) ICE Training CVC works with partners in a variety of sectors and have access to many resources in the community. CVC and its partners, are looking for fresh perspectives on how to solve real world problems, so come pitch your ideas. Training is facilitated by certified CVC staff. Run time: Full day (6 hours) (option for customized program)
