Reporting Clause

Include in your sentences information about

who is speaking and even how they are

speaking- using adverbs and synonyms for

‘said’. This is called the reporting clause.

“I can think!” squealed Henry Finch in

excitement.

Hiccup loudly screamed, “Let’s get out of

here before the dragons reach us!”
