DESCRIPTION OF SP.WALL SYSTEM IThe Speed SP-Wall system is precast retaining wall system which consists of 3 components, namely:-

r Reinforced Concrete Pillar.r Reinforced Concrete Spannine Panel.r Tie Back System.

The stability of system is obtained from passive earth with pressure mobilized in front of the embedded toeof the wall and it has been enhanced by additional support through the deployment of anchors, ties, strutsplaced at appropriate level at the back of RC Pillar.

;The SP-Wall system is mainly used to retain earth exposed smooth concrete surfaces. The RC Pillar andRC Spanning Panel can be installed easily and efficiently because of the built-in self mounting joint. TheRC Piliar will be driven into the soil by using vibro - hammer or hydraulic drop hammer followed bymounting of RC Spanning Panel between two RC Pillars. It can be installed in straight line or curve profilefollows the required / design alignment. The sequence of installation is described following:-

r Site clearing with working access platform.r To set the alignment of wall and install guide frame.r To pitch, align in position and to drive the RC Pillar.r To install RC Spanning Panel and place tie back anchor or cast capping beam.r Backfilling and finishing.

;The SP-Wall system can be used for the following purpose:-

r Shoreline and slope protection.r River widenins and river bank protection.r Retaining walffor land reclamaiion.r Extended soil platform for addition space for residentiali commercial land developmentr Channel lining for drainage system.

: The SP-Wali system require light machineries and small access road for installation.r The deep penetration of spanning panel into soil profile and it will not affect by to erosion or scouring

which normally happen at conventional retaining wall.r Fast installation and no additional temporary work is require to save the time and cost.r The well design joints eliminate the gaps normally happen between precast drain or L-shape units.t Easy to transport as compared with large size L-shape units.I Efficient SP-Wall ciesien has minimized the foundation cost sisnificantlv.

concrete pipes. Speed Pipes are connected using

three different types ofjoints as follows:

RRJ provides maximum water tightness and flexibility in

concrete pipelines. A cerlain degree oflinear deflection is

allowed in this tYPe of joint.

This joint is also known as the Ogee Joint or Flush Joint'

This is a rigid joint and deflection or settlement occuring after

installation may cause cracks, permitting leakage'

This joint is not recommended where water tightness is critical.

DESIGN AND SPECIFICATIONS I* Speed sewerage pipes are available in sizes and classes simiiar

to those ofculvert and drainage pipes.* Speed sewerage pipes come in three different categories of

protection lining:i) Using a l2mm (1/2") thick layer of HighAlumina Cement

(or Cement Fondu) which conforms to the Indah WaterKonsortium requirements for sewerage pipes.

ii) Using Sulphate Resisting Cement to British SpecificationBS 4027-1966.

iii) For aggressive corrosive conditions, the pipes can be linedinternally with a blanket of PVC sheet.

* Speed sewerage pipes utilize the Rubber Ring Joint forcomplete water tightness and protection from the

surrounding environment. Other types ofjoints are notrecommended.

* Speed sewerage pipes are also available as jacking pipes forinstallation of sewer lines without ooen excavation.
