Blumler and Katz:Blumler and Katz:Blumler and Katz came up with the uses and gratifications theory, which in my

opinion I think is genius. It shows why some media is used to satisfy specific people and their needs. This is very interesting to know why people take such interest in pieces of media and why they want them. This theory came about in the 1940s with early research on uses and gratifications through radio listeners and what their specific needs were for when they listened to the radio. They have gone through three stages which have gone from the 1940s to the 1970s and there has been some recent research done based on media today. The reason why I chose for them to be snogged is because they came up with a fantastic idea that really deeply explains why people use certain media to fulfil their needs and is interesting why people do this in a certain manner.

Jay RosenJay RosenJay Rosen seems like an interesting theorist based on how he has encouraged

the press to take more focus into the general population and life. It is also interesting to know that he takes an interest in media criticism as he has done so for the The New York Times etc. He runs his own blog called PressThink which concentrates on journalism today and can see how his life lead to this blog because he has worked in journalism for a long period before he started it all. The reason why I would marry Jay Rosen is because of the criticism he would give to the media and too the amount of contributions that he has received from his new site NewAssignment.Net which is for internet users and professional journalists.

Don TapscottDon TapscottHe is a business executive and an author but however he seems like his

business strategies do not interest me at all. Also the fact of being specialised in psychology and statistics doesn’t make me want to know more about what himself as a theorist has to offer. He has co-authored 14 books on technology in society but however, his book How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything did end up being a number one best seller. The reason I chose to avoid Mr Tapscott is because his theories don’t seem very interesting and I wouldn’t want to know any more about his theories in detail.

David GauntlettDavid GauntlettHe is a British media theorist and sociologist and looks onto what media

audiences are like in digital and social media. Having graduated and taught at many universities it seems like he has a lot to offer in terms of his theory about media audiences. What also appealed to me was how he would find creative ways to conduct research for his theory and one way was Video Critical where children were asked to make videos based on the environment. But all this was a part of to see what kind of research would come out of it from audiences and how it would give an insight to feelings and experiences from media audiences. The reason why I chose Mr Gauntlett to have dinner with is because I think it would be interesting to what else he could offer and I would like to know more details into what media audiences in certain criteria's are like.

Dan GillmorDan GillmorWhat I found interesting about Mr Gillmor was how he tries to get people who

are not into modern media and technology into liking it, showing the positive things about them. He has been offered to teach at universities and people have been allowed to go to the course without having been students who attend the universities so it gives them an opportunity to be taught how to be active media users rather than passive. He has been writing books and is currently working on another about control on companies and government. The reason to why I chose Mr Gillmor to meet my parents is because he would enlighten on the positive side to using media and what it can offer you and also subjects like politics and government would come into interest too.

Chris AndersonChris AndersonChris Anderson is an American writer and has worked for WIRED magazine

and also in 2012 he had been offered the position of being the editor-in-chief. His book The Long Tail argues about products and marketing and sales, it too had been appeared in The New York Times as a best seller. Not being the editor-in-chief for WIRED is now a editor of a blog called GeekDad which he has been working with since 2007. The reason to why I chose to go clubbing with Mr Anderson is because he may have some interesting facts about himself and his theories but he may need to have some fun once in a while.

Clay ShirkyClay ShirkyClay Shirky is a writer, teacher and consultant who focuses on social and

economic effects of the internet. Just from knowing that fact on him makes me think that he is not very interesting to know and the fact that he goes into economic details about the internet makes me loose interest. Being a graduate however, from Yale and has been a professor in media arts colleges in America. The reason why I chose Mr Shirky to push off a cliff is because he doesn’t show me any interest, I lost interest when I knew what he is as a theorist and it did not appeal to me at all.

David HepworthDavid HepworthHe is a journalist and a music writer and has been in cooperation with many

British magazines. Mr Hepworth has been associated with many big music magazine which I have read from time and time again like Q, Smash Hits, NME and other magazines that are to do with gossip or other topics like Empire, Heat and More which are all still popular today. What I take great interest with him is how he has been associated with music and the reason to why I would spend my last day on earth with is because I would want to know about songs he has written and what he has offered and contributed towards for all those famous magazines. I would take great interest wanting to know more about himslef.

Stuart HallStuart HallMr Stuart Hall has been associated with British TV and Radio and is why I

personally like him already. He has commentated for famous sports like football and the first time he did was in 1958. In the late 60s he had been associated with Match of the Day which is still a big programme and radio broadcast today that is listened to many football supporters. He had too joined the BBC as a journalist in the early 60s and became a sports journalist broadcasting all the latest news at the time. The reason to why I would want to be stuck on a chair lift with Mr Hall is because I wouldn’t mind as while we would wait to be rescued I would love to hear about what broadcasting on TV and radio was like at that time of his career.

Henry JenkinsHenry JenkinsHenry Jenkins has been known for researching on the fictional universe like

gaming and what makes people so interested into playing these certain video games. Many game companies have responded back to his theories and a famous game that is played all over the world is Sims and they said it was interesting and maybe even true to what their audiences are like male and female when playing the game and why they take so much interest. He has worked for some gaming magazines evaluating on games and also once was specifically asked to feedback on violence in games and why that has become an interest to gamers around the world. The reason to why I chose to eat spaghetti in this manner with Mr Jenkins is because I would love to spend and share time on a topic I love and to find out more on why people take such interest in certain games.

Charles LeadbeaterCharles LeadbeaterMr Leadbeater seems like he is a man for romance having come up with the

Bridget Jones Diary as a column for The Independent. He has advised the British government in the past about certain new medias like YouTube and My Space etc. so they could come to terms with what new technology was all about. He also has had been an advisor to former prime Minster Tony Blair and shows how his work and theories have lead to a great form of help to society and our government. The reason why I would do what my heart desires with is purely because he is one of the geniuses who columned The Bridget Jones Diaries so he would know along some lines what the heart truly desires.
