SPES application open in CAR

Students and out-of-school youth who are interested to work this summer vacation

under the Special Program for the Employment of Students are advised to start

completing their requirements needed to be ready when they apply on arch ! to April

(he )epartment of *abor and Employment- Cordillera Administrative Region together

with Public Employment Service +ffices of the Region stressed that applications shall

be processed on ,irst Come# irst Served .asis/ and evaluation shall be based on the

completeness of the requirements and timeliness of submission'

Regional )irector 0enry 1ohn S' 1albuena enumerated the qualifications to be able to

avail the SPES# he said# ,2nder this program# students and out-of-school youths are

qualified if they meet the following criteria3 !4-$4 years old5 enrolled during the present

school year6term or during the school year6term immediately preceding the summervacation5 the dropout intends to continue his6her education5 parents7 combined net

income after ta8# including his6her own# if any# does not e8ceed P!!9#:!"'%% per annum5

and garnered a passing grade during the school year6term referred above or in case of

dropout# the last year6term attended' ,

Interested students or out-of-school youths who want to avail of the program have to file

their application at any of the following: (1) public employment service offices (PES) in

their respective city! municipality or province" (#) PES registered private companies whose

Pledge of $ommitment as %&E SPES partners have been approved by the 'egional

%irector" and () employment officers of state universities and colleges also with approved

Pledge of $ommitment *he PESs are located at the municipal or city hall or at theprovincial capitol *hese offices are now accepting applicants from students for #+1 In the

absence of PES in their municipalities! students or drop-outs may apply at any of the

nearest PES or employment offices mentioned above ,pplicants need to submit the

following: (1) birth certificate" (#) certification from school registrar of hisher last

enrollment and grades" () latest income ta. return of hisher parents certified by the

/ureau of Internal 'evenue (/I')" (0) for S! a certificate of good moral character issued

by the barangay where heshe resides *he PES then screens the applicants and if

2ualified! refers them to their place of wor3 at government or private companies *hose

applicants screened and accepted by private companies start their wor3 in said

establishments ,s their employers! these companies pay 4+ percent of their salaries while

the remaining 0+ percent is shouldered by the %&E *hese students render a minimum of#+ days and a ma.imum of 5# days in a year

*he SPES has been remodeled to include student employment not only during the summer

period but also during the regular semesters ,s such! while students are enrolled during

the regular semesters! they are also rendering wor3 under the SPES program
