The RazorTM Logo represents AE’s lightest and thinnest line of concealable armor. In the literal sense, the name says it all, but we wanted to take it a step further. The long blades of the “Z” create a sharp, clean line - leaving a lasting impression - a razor thin look.

LOGOS

The deep arrow qualities of the “V” in this logo imply direction, and aggression.

A revolution in concealable carriers.

WEB DESIGN

CL Golf Club -

One of my clients at Paleomark, Inc. - CL Golf Club (Crystal Lake Golf Club) was a particularly interesting design. We incorporated a 360 degree panning view

from the 9th hole to capture the visitors attention straight away.

This site included zoomable photos of each green, gave pro-tips on approach, along with navigable maps assisting each CL golfer in perfecting their game.

Armor Express -

Our latest website design (seen here on the left) is much cleaner, more engaging, and delivers a number of design improvements that better fit our target market.

The full site is set to go live later this summer.

ANNUALPRODUCT CATALOG

Page 7: Spinn Folio

2009201020112012

Each year Armor ExpressTM debuts their products through a nationally distributed catalog. The catalog isn’t just an order form for the end user, more importantly, it is a tool for our national team of reps and dealers. It not only needs to be eye-catching, but also informative, and easy to navigate.

From sketch to reality, I worked closely with the booth construction team as they developed my quick draft into something tangible.

TRADESHOW

BOOTHTrade shows play an important role in the delivery of a company message. They also need to be able to capture an audience and feel inviting. They should be scalable and easily modified to match a new product lineup or target customer. The 20’x20’ booth was my first substantial project as art director for Armor Express.

SWAG

“Swag” as it is called in the Law Enforcement and Military world plays an interesting role in both building and maintaining client relationships. Our target market wanted items that they could incorporate into both their daily lives as well as training - it had to have utility.

T-Shirts played more then one role in the promotional tool lineup. Many were used simply as an internal incentive - given out during parades and other employee get-togethers.

Other designs worked towards building brand awareness at trade shows and roundups.

Cops like free stuff.

The water bottle I selected is both durable, simple, sleek, and functional.

This was received well by our customers, and we used it as a “higher value” promo piece.

Advertising plays an important role in communicating the overall image and product offerings to your prospective clients. Our goal was to look macho, gritty, yet technical and sophisticated.

LAW OFFICER LET

Our mediums included both nationally and internationally distributed magazines, buyer’s guides, and online banner placement. We began experimenting with iPad aps and online publications as well..

We created and maintained social networking hubs that gave us key insight into what our end-users were looking for in future products.

GOVERNMENT DRAWINGS

Body armor manufacturers must meet NIJ standards in order to sell body armor to agencies seeking federal funding. Due to the stringent testing involved with the certification process Armor ExpressTM turned to me in order to create unit accurate schematics of each ballistic panel sent in for testing. The certification labs then used these drawings to reference target areas of possible weakness.

In order to achieve accurate results, I imported cut patterns and meticulously drew out the pad’s inner details and structure.

There are now over fifty of these drawings in the government’s records.

This view is the master document containing a substantial number of detailed layers.

Page 15: Spinn Folio

WORKFLOW

The master file consists of more then 50 layers - each layer is made up of subgroups. Each layer represents a complete drawing.

Due to the nature of the drawing, each one had to have a specific name assigned to it as well as a revision number. In order to minimize the amount of editing required within the Adobe Illustrator software, I built in editable fields which accompanied the exported PDF.

By using imported “cut” dimensions I was able to downsize the patterns by a particular ratio which I then added to a key at the bottom of the page.

Page 16: Spinn Folio

PACKAGINGThe Ara-ShockTM trauma plate was a unique product offering in the sense that it held the potential of being an impulse buy product. In order to capitalize on this concept I was commissioned to create a “topper” graphic which could hang from a peg hook. I saw it as a chance to get both our product and social marketing efforts in front of the customer.

Page 17: Spinn Folio

Over my years with AE I have had the opportunity to create pieces such as information pamphlets and user guides.
