MINISTRY MORSEL Welcome to the odds and ends MM prior to my absence until May 9. Thank you to those praying each week day the common prayer points
available in the newsletter. Your partnership in prayer is valued and
effective. It is abundantly clear to me that God is blessing us with his favour
and presence as we increasingly live out our faith together. The quality and
size of our Easter services is a testimony to this. Many visitors joined us and were moved by the services and the fellowship they enjoyed.
Thank you to those reading the sermon passage in preparation for the
teaching time. Spiritual growth and new faith is happening in our midst as
people listen and respond to God’s word applied to our lives.
Thank you to those upholding our youth ministry in prayer and personal
encouragement. After a slow start to the year the group is growing in number and enthusiasm. Especially exciting is the desire of the older youth coming at
4pm to consider what it looks like to apply the teaching of the Bible to
different aspects of life.
A baby/toddler boom is taking place with 6 under 5s regularly coming to
Sunday@10 with the genuine potential for more.
It is important for your information and prayers to be kept up to date with the search for a Young Families Minister. Of the group of original applicants a
short list of two suitable candidates was discerned jointly by the parish,
Diocese and BCA. Since then more detailed interviews and discussions with
referees have led to the joint decision to decide one of the remaining two did
not have the skills we are looking for. Ongoing discussions are continuing with the remaining candidate. Please continue to pray for God to raise up
the right person. It is becoming clear that the availability of quality people
with the skills we are seeking is limited because those serving fruitfully in this
area of ministry are already happily employed in other places!
Finally let me conclude this odds and ends MM by expressing the joy and
privilege I feel in being able to serve you as Rector.

SENTENCE: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he
has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the
dead. 1 Peter 1:3
COLLECT: Almighty and eternal God, the strength of those who believe and the hope of those who doubt: may we, who have not seen, have faith and receive the fullness of Christ’s blessing; who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. Blessed Lord, you have caused all the Scriptures to be written for our learning: help us to so hear, read, learn and embrace them that, encouraged and supported by your Word, we may hold fast to the joyful hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

SYDNEY PRAYER BREAKFAST: A wide cross-section of Christians who work in the Sydney CBD will come together in the brand-new
International Convention Centre, Darling Harbour, in June for the annual Sydney Prayer Breakfast. This year, about 1500 Christians of different denominations are expected to gather over croissants and coffee to pray for the city, as well as networking with other Christians and catching up with friends. So far, about 900 have registered for the June 16 event. Sydney Prayer Breakfast chairman Neville Cox said this interest indicated ‘the importance of prayer in our city. Christians are keen to gather and pray for our city, our state and our nation. (Anne)

This morning is a joyous occasion as we share in a baptism at Sunday@10. We join with Dale, Deborah, Ethan and Lacey as they bring Mikaela for baptism. We warmly welcome their family and friends.
