Sewing Instructions1. Sew (1) 2” x 42” Fabric B strip to each side of the 23 ½” x 42” Fabric A panel. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 26 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A panel. Trim the block to measure 25 ½” x 45 ½” to make the Center Block (Fig. 1).

2. Sew (1) 3 ½” x 45 ½” Fabric C strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 3 ½” x 31 ½” Fabric C strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block (Fig. 2).

3. Place (1) 3 ½” Fabric D square on the left side of (1) 3 ½” x 6 ½” Fabric J strip, right sides together (Fig. 3). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 3). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 4). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼” seam allowance.

4. Place another 3 ½” Fabric D square on the right side of the 3 ½” x 6 ½” Fabric J strip, right sides together (Fig. 5). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper left corner to the lower right corner (Fig. 5). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 6). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼” seam allowance to make (1) DJD unit.

6. Repeat Steps 3-4 using (8) 3 ½” x 6 ½” Fabric I strips and (16) 3 ½” Fabric D squares to make (8) DID units (Fig. 7).

19. Sew FDF unit to each side of (1) 4 ½” Fabric C square. Sew (1) FD block to each end of (1) FDF unit. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric C square to make (1) C block (Fig. 21). Repeat to make (8) C blocks total.

20. Sew KDK unit to each side of (1) 4 ½” Fabric H square. Sew (1) KD block to each end of (1) KDK unit. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric H square to make (1) H block (Fig. 22). Repeat to make (4) H blocks total.

21. Sew (1) GB block to each side of (1) C block. Sew (1) 4 ½” Fabric D square to each end of (1) GB block. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips to the top and to the bottom of the C block to make (1) Block One (Fig. 23). Repeat to make (8) Block Ones total.

24. Sew (1) 2” x 51 ½” Fabric D strip to each side of the Center Block.

25. Sew (2) Block Twos, (1) Block One and (2) 2” x 16 ½” Fabric D strips together as shown. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew (1) strip to each side of the Center Block to make Row Two.

26. Sew the (3) rows, in numerical order, and (2) 2” x 66 ½” Fabric D strips together alternating them to make the quilt top.

27. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 86 ½” Fabric D strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 70 ½” Fabric D strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top.

28. Layer and quilt as desired.

29. Sew the (8) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric E strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press.

30. Bind as desired.

22. Sew (1) GE block to each side of (1) H block. Sew (1) 4 ½” Fabric D square to each end of (1) GE block. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips to the top and to the bottom of the H block to make (1) Block Two (Fig. 24). Repeat to make (4) Block Twos total.
