Our 12th annual fall gala will be our largest fundraising event of the year! Because our organization is county-wide, this event attracts donors and corporate sponsors from both northern and southern Santa Barbara County.

In 2018, our event “CASA at the Club” had more than 250 guests that helped us raise $150,000 for children in foster care. The 2019 gala, “Make a Splash for CASA!” will be held on the pool deck at the Chumash Casino Resort, centrally located within Santa Barbara County.

The pool deck is a gorgeous new venue, offering beautiful views of the Santa Ynez Valley. The Chumash Casino Resort also has free valet parking for guests and will have a limited number of rooms available at a special rate! We are dedicated to making this event the talk of the town. We have a wonderful Event Committee, “The Deco Girls”, who help make this event a success year after year.

Agency OverviewEvery day abused and neglected children in our community are removed from their homes and placed into temporary foster care because their parents cannot or will not take care of them. Right now, more than 450 children in Santa Barbara County are under court supervision because they were neglected or abused in their homes.

With a Court Appointed Special Advocate, a child will spend significantly less time in the foster care system, and is twice as likely to find a safe, permanent home. Children with CASAs get what they need.

The Mission of Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA) of Santa Barbara County is to assure a safe, permanent, nurturing home for every abused and/or neglected child by providing a highly trained volunteer to advocate for them in the court system.

CASA volunteers are appointed by a judge to serve as the eyes and ears for the court, and a voice for the child. CASA is the only program of its kind. It is nothing short of a revolution – a way to address the safety and dignity of every child. Everything is built around one child and one caring adult who advocates for that child.

JOIN OUR FIGHT TO MAKE SURE CHILDREN DON’T GET LOST IN THE CHILD WELFARE SYSTEM. BE A CHAMPION FOR THEM, SOMEONE WHO MAKES SURE THEIR NEEDS ARE TAKEN CARE OF.

• 283 volunteers advocated for 467 abused and neglected children - the most vulnerable members in our society

• 75 new volunteers completed 30 hours of pre-service training to become a child’s advocate

• 21,557 hours of service were donated by CASA volunteers providing $693,825 in value to the community.
