1. Splicing Logs Using the Operations Tab

During import, new global well logs can be created because

the names have changed slightly (they are, essentially, the

same logs). These should become one log.

1. Go to Settings > Operations tab for

the Global log to keep (e.g., Gamma).

2. Select the log to be added (e.g., GR).

3. Click the Run adding button.

4. When you are SURE you have

merged the logs, delete the remainingold well log.

2. Splicing Logs Using the Calculator

To perform a global splicing of logs on many wells or all wells, use the

Well Calculator. The sections to splice are assumed to be already loaded.

1. Open the Calculator

from the Global well logs

folder to perform thesplicing on all the wells.

2. Make a new log (here:GR_Splice) using an If

statement.

3. Display all of them to

verify that the operation

was correctly done.

Filling Missing IntervalsIf the new curve has a missing interval and

the interval should not be undefined, it canbe fixed or even interpolate between the

closest points.

1. Drawing Missing Intervals after Splicing (1)

If the new curve has a missing

interval and the interval should

not be undefined, it can be fixed.

1. Right-click on the curve

and select Log editor.

2. Select Action #1: Draw.

3. Use the cursor in the

Well section window to

draw the selection. (It

automatically fills in the

value and depth).Optionally, enter the

values manually.

Calculate the correct estimated value at the correct depth.

1. Set the cursor just

above and below the

missing interval; an

Action Zone appears.2. Pick the red value

point editors and move

to the correct positions.

3. Click Apply and Run.

4. View the result in thewell section.

2. Interpolate Missing Undefined Values

If small sections of the log are missing, interpolate between the

closest points, either on all the wells at the Global well logs level

or at a specific depth interval using Log editor at the well level.

1. Open the Log Editor for the Global well logs.

2. Select Change Undef  from the drop-down menu.3. Choose Interpolate as method to use.

4. Click Apply and Run.
