General InformationCongratulations on your choice of aTrane mini-split system. Thesesystems have been carefully designedand manufactured under strict TraneWorldwide Quality Standards toprovide you with years of comfortable,convenient cooling with a minimumof service.

This Owner Manual is given as a guideto start-up, operation and periodicmaintenance by the user of MCC split-system. It does not contain the fullservice procedures necessary for thecontinued successful operation of thisequipment. The services of a qualifiedservice technician should beemployed, through the maintenancecontract with a reputable servicecompany.

Read it completely before doinganything with your air conditioningsystem.

About this ManualCautions appear at appropriate placesin this instruction manual. Yourpersonal safety and the properoperation of this machine require thatyou follow them carefully. The TraneCompany assumes no liability for theinappropriate usage of the unit.

About the UnitThese MCC units are assembled,pressure tested, dehydrated, chargedand run tested before shipment. Theinformation contained in this manualapplies to MCC units are designed tooperate in cooling mode only.

Trane MCC series offer ceilingmounted installation to leave the floorspace uncluttered, and equipped withLCD wireless remote control.

ReceptionOn arrival, inspect the unit beforesigning the delivery note. Specify anydamage of the unit on the deliverynote, and send a registered letter ofprotest to the last carrier of the goodswithin 72 hours of delivery. Notify thedealer at the same time.

The unit should be totally inspectedwithin 7 days of delivery. If anyconcealed damage is discovered,send a registered letter of protest tothe carrier within 7 days of deliveryand notify the dealer.

Battery: Two AAA batteries are used inthis remote control unit

Control Operation

Infrared Remote ControlName and Function ofbuttons

Installation of Batteries1. Remove the cover from the back of

the remote control.2. Insert the two batteries into the slot.

(Be sure that the + and - directionsare correct.)

3. Fix the cover to the back of theremote control.

Cautions Regarding the Batteries• The batteries can be used for

approximately one year.• Do not use rechargeable (Ni-Cd)

batteries, because such batteriesdiffer from standard dry cell batteriesin shape, dimensions andperformance.

• Be sure to replace the batteries withtwo new batteries of the same typeas each other.

• Remove the batteries if the airconditioner is not going to be used forand extended period of time.

1. Infrared Signal Transmitter Transmits the signal to indoor unit2. System Mode Displays the current operating mode. In cooling only it will operate in Cooling - Dry (Dehumidification) - Fan mode consectutively3. Fan Speed Indicator Displays the selected fan speed. Fan speed level of Hi, Me and Lo will be indicated4. Clock Displays the current time5. Temperature Setting Displays the temperature setting6. Lock Key Indicator Displays locked status of keyboard 7. Airflow Indicator Displays swing airflow status8. Sleep Mode Indicator Display stuatus of Sleep Mode9. Programmable Timing Indicator Displays hours set for auto turn-on or turn-off10. Power Button Press this button to start operation. Press this button again to stop operation11. Temperature Setting Button Press this button to increase the set temperature Press this button to decrease the set temperature12. HOLD Button Press this button to lock or unlock the keyboard13. SLEEP Button Press this button to change to Sleep operation14. FAN SPEED Button Press this button to select fan speed15. System Operating Selection

FAN Only System Operation- Press POWER button (the display

panel shows the previous settings).- Press MODE button to select the

system operating mode, FAN modewill be shown on the display.

- Press FAN button to select any fanspeed. The FAN display will show LOW, MED, HIGH or AUTOaccording to fan speed level, low,medium, high and auto.

COOLING System Operation- Press POWER button (the display

panel shows the previous settings).- Press MODE button to select the

COOL operating mode, “COOL”mode will be shown on the display.

- Press either TEMP or TEMPbutton to set the desired roomtemperature. Temperature setrange is 18 OC to 30 OC.

- Press FAN button to select any fanspeed. The FAN display will show LOW, MED, HIGH or AUTOaccording to fan speed level, low,medium, high and auto.

DRY System Operation- Press POWER button (the display

panel shows the previous settings).- Press MODE button to select the

DRY operating mode, “DRY” modewill be shown on the display.

- Press either TEMP or TEMPbutton to get the desired roomtemperature setting at theindication. Temperature set rangeis 18 OC to 30 OC.

- The system automatically cycle thecompressor and fan (low speed) toremove moisture from the airwithout overcooling the room.

Timer OperationOnce you select the timer operation,the settings are saved in the remotecontrol. Thereafter, the airconditioner will start operating underthe same conditions when you simplypush the POWER button of the remotecontrol.

Setting STOP TimerYou can set the STOP timer to stopthe unit automatically at any desiredtime up to 24 hour ahead.

Setting START TimerYou can set the START timer to startthe unit automatically at any desiredtime up to 24 hour ahead.

Setting Auto-Stop TimerYou can set the stop timer to stop....- During the operation of the air-conditioner, press the TIMER button and the air conditioner will enable stop timer to automaticall turn off the unit- Press the HOUR button to set the time you want to turn off the unit. Every time the button is pressed, hour indicator will be increased by 1 hour- After the time is set, the digits shown on the display screen will go down by 1 for every elapsed hour- Press the TIMER button again to cancel timer

Setting Auto-Start TimerYou can set the stop timer to start...- When the air-conditioner is in the standby mode, press the TIMER button and the air conditioner will enable start timer to automaticall turn on the unit- Press the HOUR button to set the time you want to turn off the unit. Every time the button is pressed, hour indicator will be increased by 1 hour- After the time is set, the digits shown on the display screen will go down by 1 for every elapsed hour- Press the TIMER button again to cancel timer

Setting Clock- Unload the back cover, push the CLK button with the tip of a ball pen, etc. Timer indicator will be flicking and can be set- Press HOUR button to set correct hour- Press MIN button to set correct minute- Press CLK button again and reattach the back cover

SLEEP ModeThis feature automatically adjusts the temperature setting to provide more comfortable sleeping condition and save energy- Press SLEEP button, one hour after pressing, the air conditioner will automatically raise the set temperature by 0.5 C- Half an hour after, the air conditioner will automatically raise the set temperature by 0.5 C- The air conditioner will automatically stop its operation in 8 hours

Maintenance

- Swing up the grille until the latchesclick into the positions.

Cleaning the UnitClean the air conditioner and theremote control with dry cloth or avacuum cleaner. If damp cloth is used,remove moisture by using dry clothafterward.

At the Start of the Season- Check that nothing blocks the air

inlet and outlet of indoor andoutdoor units.

- Running the unit without an air filtercan cause malfunctions due to dirtor dust. Always install an air filter atall times.

- Check that a drainage hose doesnot bend or clog.

- Check that the units are properlyinstalled.

During the Off Season- Cut off the power supply main

switch.- Clean the air filter and other parts.- Leave the circulation fan running for

2-3 hours to dry out the inside ofthe unit.

Suggestion:- If the filter is dirty, it will cause the

reduction of airflow, the unit isoverload and consume 6% moreof electricity. So, regular cleaningis necessary.

Replacing Air Purifying Filter(Option)Replacement of air purifying filters.(recommend once every three months)

- Open the grille by pulling thelatches from the front frame.

- Swing the grille open and removethe air filter out off the grille.

- Unscrew the filter frame andremove the air purifying filter fromthe filter frame.

- Re-insert the air filter to the grille,swing up the grille until the lacthesclick into the positions.

Information- Airflow volume is reduced when

an air purifying filter have beeninstalled.

Cleaning the Air FiltersBefore inspection and maintenanceof the unit, always set the mainpower switch to “OFF” to cut offpower supply.

- Unclip the grille from the frontframe by pull the latches fromthe front frame.

- Swing the grille open and removethe air filter out off the grille.

- Remove the air filter and clean byvacuum cleaner or if it is very dirty,wash it with soap water then wipeoff unit it is completely dry beforereinstallation.

System Operation

- The temperature should not beset lower than what you need.This would result to increaseenergy cost.

- Clean the air filter every week forhigher efficiency.

- Draw close curtains or close glasswindows when cooling to preventheat load from sun light which maycause more electricity cost.

- To distribute cool air through outthe room, adjust air flow directionto diffuse cool air.

- Close windows and doors whileoperating the unit to preventleakage of cooled air to saveenergy.

- In case of ineffective ventilation,open the window to ventilate theroom air once in a while but nottoo long since cooled air will beuselessly drained out.

- Check electrical system (voltageand frequency). Use the properpower supply indicated on the unitto operate the air conditioner andonly fuses with specified capacity.Do not use pieces of wire insteadof fuse.

- Do not insert objects into the airinlet or outlet when the airconditioner is running as it maycause damage or personal injury.

- Do not channel the air flow directlyat people, especially infants, agedpersons, or patients.

- Turn off the air conditioner if, whilerunning electricity interferenceoccurs. If the unit is not to be usedfor a long time, cut off the powersupply main switch.

- Do not locate any obstaclesagainst the air flow direction ofindoor and outdoor units. Inefficientperformance or malfunction mayresult.

- Do not locate a heater or any otherheat sources close to the unit. Theheat may deform the plastic parts.
