HOW TO USE• Assign one student the bass pattern to play on the piano. Teach them the pat-tern by rote or give them music to read, whichever will be easier.• Have two students each pick out a Spooky Sound Card.• Decide who will play in the middle and treble of the piano. • Give all the other students rhythm instruments. You can instruct them how to use them (quarter notes, whole notes, etc.) or let them freestyle.• Count everyone in and play a complete set of 9 bars.• Switch parts and repeat until time is up. Make sure everyone gets at least one chance on the middle or treble parts. • Some beginning student may not be able for the bass parts so use your judge-ment and knowledge of your students to make sure everyone is successful. If a student already knows another chord pattern feel free to use it. Anything in A minor will work fine.

ASSEMBLYTo assemble this game:

• Print out the game cards (pages 3-6). • Print the optional decorative backing on page 7 if desired.• Cut along the dotted lines and laminate if desired.• You will also need some rhythm instruments, or tupperware boxes etc. that you can use for the percussion section.• It is helpful if you have two pianos/keyboards, but not necessary.

Spooky Sound no. 10: Trills*Hint: If you haven’t played trills before, use finger 2’s from both hands to play any two keys which are beside each other, alternating as quickly as possible. These will sound spookiest very low or very high on the keyboard.
