PRESENTATION

The organisation

Anglophiles is a private educational organisation established in 1973. We run English language courses and activity programmes for young overseas visitors in over ten centres throughout the UK. These are mainly holiday English language courses that take place each year in February, April, June, July, August and October. Students are aged between 7 to 18 years. Most of them come from France, but we also have “international students” coming from Spain, Italy, Germany, Russia…

Our goals

Young people today are more refined, educated and demanding than ever. Our mission therefore is to provide quality educational and travel experiences that really meet their needs and aspirations - and to make a difference to their lives.

Our mission for the future:

√ To provide the highest quality educational and travel experiences for young people from all over the world.

√ To meet their needs & aspirations and to make a difference to their lives.

How do we achieve this?

By being a company with a difference:

√ Caring, professional and modern √ Highly experienced - with an impressive track record √ Having a wonderful team of teachers, youth leaders and professionals working at all levels √ Creating new interesting educational programmes for students.

By creating opportunities for young people to travel, study, learn, work and play in a safe English-speaking environment. Our programmes are run with professionalism, enthusiasm and dedication.

Our accreditation:

Anglophiles Academic was accredited by the Accreditation Body for Language Services, also known as ABLS Accreditation. The UK Border Agency approves ABLS Accreditation which was established in 1993. This means that we are now able to recruit students from all over the world as our accreditation body is on the list used by immigration for

purposes of visa entrance to the UK via the SVV (Student Visa route).

OUR COURSES AND ACTIVITY PROGRAMMES

We run many different types of courses – almost all of them have an English language improvement element. Some of these courses also have an underlying theme, such as football, dance, music etc. Some courses are homestay based where students stay with English host families. Some others are residential where students stay in school or university accommodation.

We have many exciting residential programmes for 2016 for which we require various types of Activity Leaders:

* Funcoast World in Skegness: A Centre Manager, Group Managers, General Activity Leaders, Football, Tennis and Basketball Coaches. We also require Performing Art Coaches for our Fame Academy programme.

* Leicester College: A Centre Manager, Group Managers, General Activity Leaders, a Video Games Programmer, Football, Rugby, Athletics coaches, Tennis Coaches and a Sports Manager.

* Safari & Fun (one week in Woburn Safari park and one week in Funcoast, Skegness): General Activity Leaders.

Who are we looking for? We need confident, fun, enthusiastic people to work on our residential summer camps. Working closely with our students, you will be responsible for all aspects of our students care, liaising with teachers, supervising excursions and assisting in the day-to-day running of the centre. We need people who are organised, attentive, motivated and energetic to really pass their enthusiasm onto our students and get them involved in the fabulous activities we offer. We need open-minded people, able and willing to work in a lively, fast-paced and international environment.

OUR RESIDENTIAL CENTRES

Funcoast World Funcoast World, located in Skegness, is one of the Anglophiles Academic residential centres for our groups of overseas students from 7 to 17 years old. It has a fabulous range of on-site activities and facilities, including swimming pools, water slides, funfair, basketball, tennis, volleyball, mini-golf, an excellent sandy beach, karaoke, discos, evening entertainment and a cinema to name just a few. All Anglophiles staff are accommodated in apartments with students on a full-board basis. The activity programme is organised and timetabled by the Anglophiles Centre Manager. English & Fun At Funcoast World we run multi-activity programmes in which students have 12 hours of English lessons per complete week, taught by our English language teachers, and a wide range of activities organised by our team of Activity Leaders. Sports Academies In our two week Basketball, Tennis or Football Academies, students have 24 hours of English classes, taught by our English language teachers, and 8 sessions of specialised sports activities (lead by our coaches). Fame Academy In our Fame Academy programme, students have dance, drama and singing workshops in order to create a show, which they will perform at the end of their two-week course. This programme does not include traditional English classes, but a theme will be explored in English each day during workshops.

Application Pack 2016

Woburn Safari Park We run our Safari & Fun programme with one week at Woburn Safari Park and the other week at Funcoast World. Woburn is one of the UK’s most exciting safari parks. Students from 7 to 14 years old have a wonderful opportunity to work with the safari park keepers and staff, looking after and feeding the animals. Students also get an unparalleled close-up look at lions, tigers, elephants, bears, wolves, monkeys, antelope, white rhinos, giraffes, wallabies, lemurs and other animals there. All Anglophiles staff are accommodated on full-board basis and will travel from one centre to the other with the group.

Leicester College Anglophiles Academic is running a residential summer school at Leicester University for students aged between 11 and 17 years old. Courses run for 2 or 3 weeks and leaders can work on one or more programmes. Anglophiles staff are accommodated on a full-board basis. The activity programme is organised and timetabled by the Anglophiles Centre Manager. English & Multi-activities This programme includes 3 hours of English tuition on most days, taught by our English language teachers, and sports/leisure activities organised and led by our Activity Leaders in the mornings, afternoons and evenings. Sports Academies In addition to our general English and Multi-Activity programme, we are running Sports Academies (tennis, football, athletics, rugby), where students have English classes and their sports options in the mornings/afternoons.

English & Video Games In this programme and in addition to their traditional English classes, our students will create a video game with their Video Games coach. English & Magic This programme includes English classes as well as professional magic workshops where the students will learn many magic techniques and receive a “Magic Apprentice Certificate”.
