Environmental performanceSynthetic sports fields conserve drinking water by consuming much less than natural grass surfaces do. They also require less energy and chemicals to maintain. Alveo Sports Layer is inert, non-biodegradable,and releases no harmful chemicals or gases known to pollute soil, water,or air. The material can be easily recycled like other foams; it is typicallyshredded and made into drainage mats. If the material is not recycled it can be incinerated and the energy value recovered. The final option isdisposal in a properly managed landfill.
