Hygiene...How is it affected when we exercise? When we exercise our bodies generate heat.
Our bodies produce sweat so the heat can be
released.
The sweat must evaporate off the skin if the heat is to
be released.
Odour doesn’t come from the water in sweat but from bacteria on our skin
which mixes with the water.
What does this mean for us?Wear clothes that you
will not overheat in and that will keep you
cool.
Sweat is good as it keeps us cool. Sweating also means you’re working
hard!
We need to wear clothes that let our skin breathe so the
sweat can evaporate off our skin.
Wash your whole body everyday - especially after exercise. Wear
deodorant everyday to minimise odour.
