Newsletter Term 3, Week 10 It is hard to believe that the end of Term 3 has come. As I look back on all that has
been done and achieved over the term I get an understanding of how the Term has
skipped by. Thank you to everyone who has contributed in making Term 3 such an
engaging and enjoyable period. Now our attention moves to Term 4 and all the topics
and events that it holds, led by our school concert in Week 2 and the Year 1/2
swimming program and later, our Year 4 and Year 5 camps (November). I take this
time on behalf of all at TRBPS to wish everyone as safe and enjoyable break.
Last day of Term Early Dismissal Friday September 16 - we finish at 2.30pm. There will be NO ASSEMBLY,
children will be dismissed from their classrooms. School will recommence on
Monday 3rd October. Canteen will be open on the first Tuesday of Term 4.
Rainbow House Childcare will operate from 2.30pm on the last day of Term. Please
ensure your child is booked in.
Child Safe Standards There is has been a lot of promotion about the standards that emphasises how
important they are to organisations that are based on child centred work. The biggest
understanding for parents who act as volunteers is that under the Standards, they are
defined as ‘staff’ and can only engage in child centred work by going through the
same process. Some important factors for parents to know are that –
To participate in any activity or event that has contact with children a
Working with Children Check must be acquired and registered with the front
office
Must acknowledge their agreement of our Staff Code of Conduct by having
a signed copy left at the front office (more information about this in Term 4).
Must sign in and out at the office
Must be wearing a TRBPS identification at all times
Introduction of the Standards means the school MUST be firm on parents not being
on the premises during school hours unless in compliance with the processes and
procedure we put in place (drop off and pick up aside).
A copy of our Child Safe Standards Policy has been included in the newsletter.
2016 School Concert Ticket bookings are now available on-line. Tickets will $15.00 each and there is a limit of 3
tickets per family. Children under 2 years of age do not require a ticket if seated on an adults
lap. Tucker Road students do not require a ticket. The concert will be held at Robert
Blackwood Hall, Monash University, Clayton on Thursday 13th October. Please refer to the
flyer in this weeks newsletter.
Holiday Security Parents are encouraged to keep a close eye on the school grounds and buildings
during the holiday period. Report any suspicious behavior to the police or
Departmental security.
