Making the cut for the apprenticeship The Cardiff and Vale College 14-16 Programme has had another great success story this year with one of its St Cyres School link students having now been accepted into an apprenticeship programme at Sweenys barber shop in Dinas Powys. Ms Hilary Thomas, Deputy Headteacher for St Cyres School said ‘Nina Davies was one of twelve students from St Cyres School this year who successfully combined the vocational course in Hair and Beauty at Cardiff and Vale College with her GCSE qualifications. Nina enjoyed the varied experiences that the course offered and looked forward to spending every Wednesday afternoon at the salon facilities. Success in this course has enabled Nina to progress to an apprenticeship. We are delighted for Nina and wish her every continued success’ . Nina said ‘Thanks to everyone in St Cyres School for all the support they have given me. The guys in the shop have been great and I’m excited to get everything going in the workplace!’ For more information on how your school can link to the 14-16 programme at CAVC please contact [email protected]
