Credit Card Information: Card number with expiry date.We accept Visa, MasterCard and AmericanExpress. You may also pay cash, debit or cheque if registering in person at the Recreation Complex orKyle Centre.

PROGRAMREFUND POLICY:We will gladly refund your account, for any reason, within the firstor second class of our registered programs. Refunds will not be issued after the second class. Forcamps, workshops and 1-day programs including Pro-D days, one week notice is required. Refunds forprograms paid by cash will be issued in the form of a cheque mailed out to participants once refundrequest has been processed. Refunds will be prorated accordingly.

Step1PREPARING FOR REGISTRATIONDAYSet up your recreation account with the City of PortMoody either online, in-person or by phone. Ensure thisis completed 1-week prior to the registration date as newaccounts must be activated.We will provide you withyour login information for online registration. Alreadyhave an account and don’t know your numbers? Give us acall – we’re happy to provide them to you.

Step 2REGISTRATIONDAY –MONDAY, FEBRUARY 23@ 7amOnline registration is the fastest form of registration andalthough it will not guarantee a space in the program,you can process your registration from the comfort ofyour home or office and will not have to wait in line or inqueue on the telephone.

Step3PAPERWORK&AGEVERIFICATIONChild must be 3 or 4 years old prior to December 31,2015.

Once registration has been completed, you will have7 working days to provide us with Payment Planinformation, signed paperwork and a Birth Certificate orCare Card for age verification. Our location: RecreationComplex office, 300 Ioco Road, Port Moody.

Onemonth payment due at time of registration (non-refundable).

Monthly payment plan can be made by Visa/MasterCard/American Express or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT – Voidcheque required). Please note that online registrationrequires a credit card initially (EFT not available online),but method of future scheduled payments can bechanged to EFT when you submit your forms.

Child Recreation ProgramSeptember 2015-June 2016Registration starts: Monday, February 23, 2015 at 7:00amThis play-orientated, learning program for three-and-four year olds promotes learning in a friendly, positive and fun-filledatmosphere, and is geared towards preparing your child for kindergarten. It provides a good balance of structure and free-playtime as well as themed activities and outings to various places in our community.Childmust be 3 or 4 years old prior to Dec.31, 2015 – NO EXCEPTIONS

Newborn to age 5While you take part in a fitness class or go work out in theweight room, our staff can provide a safe place for your childto play. Parents must remain in the building while their childis in the childminding centre. A limited number of spots areavailable on a first-come first-served basis.

Frequently Asked Questions:

May I request a specific party leader?Staff are assigned regular birthday party shifts at specific locations,so we do not accept requests for individual leaders.

Is there a limit to the number of people who can attend?16 children maximum including little ones on the move and thebirthday child! (unless otherwise noted). Parents may be in the roomto assist young children, but food and party activities are for theparty participants only.

Can parties be for multiple children at one time?We limit parties to one child (or two children in the same family).

How long are the parties?Most parties are 2 hours in length, plus 30 minutes of set-up prior tothe start time to prepare for your guests and 15 minutes for cleanup.

Can we stay longer than the allotted time?Time extensions and multiple party bookings will not be accepted.

What should I bring to the party?Please bring the following items to your party: food, beverages,plates, napkins, cutlery and tablecloths for 6’ rectangle tables (4recommended) and goody bags (optional).

What can I bring to decorate?You are welcome to bring your own party decorations/supplies, butwe ask that you use tape only to avoid damage to the walls. Pleasenote that we do not allow helium balloons in any of our facilities.

Are there kitchen facilities available?Each of our locations has a fridge available. Party on theMountain offers access to a stove and oven for reheating.

What is the cancellation policy for birthday parties?All parties require two weeks’notice to cancel. No refunds will beprovided if cancellation occurs within two weeks.

Where do I meet my party leader?At the Recreation Complex look for your party signage in the mainlobby; it will lead you to the party location.

Is the party leader responsible for supervising the children?Yes, the party leader will maintain the active portion of the party.We ask that you assist the party leader during the activities. In the2nd hour of the party we ask that parents help supervise thechildren.

Can I hire amagician/clown/fairy to entertain at my party?Third party entertainers are not permitted.

For parties that offer a craft, can I request a specific craft?Our party leader prepares an age appropriate craft and you maydiscuss a craft option upon arrival or during set-up time.

Will I receive a phone call frommy leader prior to my party date?All relevant information is provided at time of registration withpertinent information on your receipt.

Arena PartiesWill I receive a phone call frommy leader prior to my partydate?A leader will contact you up to one week prior to set up a meetingplace and answer any questions you may have.

Will we have the entire ice sheet to ourselves?Fall &Winter parties – a ¼ of the ice will be dedicated to your partyduring a family skate session. Spring parties – your party will have aprivate sheet of ice in the curling rink.

Dowe have to pay for skate and helmet rentals?Skates and helmet rental are included in your party fee.

Can the kids wear bike helmets?Bike helmets are not permitted on the ice surface as they do notoffer adequate protection.

Dowe have access to a kitchen?Arena parties do not have access to a fridge or kitchen facilities.

Aquatic PartiesIs there an opportunity to invite more guests than themaximum?An additional lifeguard can be hired in advance, for an extra fee, toincrease the number of guests.

Do pool parties comewith a leader?Pool toys/equipment are provided and our lifeguard will offer somefun games upon request.

Does themaximum number of participants include guests whoare not using the pool?The maximum number includes both pool and poolside guests(everyone inside the gates).

Can we bring food?Yes, a barbeque, pop-up tent, tables and chairs will be available foryour party.

If public swim starts directly after our party, can we stay?Yes, you may stay free of charge for the public swim.

Starting in the spring of 2015, the City of PortMoody will pick up non-refundable glass at thecurb on amonthly basis. Glass can be trickyto collect. It often gets broken into pieces thatcontaminate other recyclables or are too smallto process at the depot.We’ll provide singlefamily homes with a separate bin for glass, whilemulti-family homes will get a large cart for theirgarbage rooms.

can use the weight room. Upon completion of an orientation, a teen weight

room card will be issued. A formmust be filled out and signed by a parent

prior to the orientation. Orientations are done during non-teen time hours.

TeenTime Hours • Teens between the ages of 13-15 years can come and

learn how to weight train and use the cardio equipment daily between

3:00-5:30pm.

On weekends, professional days and school holidays, the teen times will be

11:00am-1:00pm and 3:00-5:30pm.

Teens:WalkingTrack • Teen time hours and rules apply to walking track

for ages 13-15 years without adult supervision.

Parent &TotFor ages 2-4 years. An introduction to the ice surface for childrenwho have had no previous experience in a pair of skates.Instructors will assist the parent and show them how to supporttheir child to encourage a sense of comfort while on the ice. Toysand props will be available for parents and tots to play with. Thisis not a skill based lesson program. Parents MUST be able to skatecomfortably to support child.

SnowbunniesThis program is perfect for first time skaters and a great way foryour child to get comfortable on the ice. Our instructors will usetoys and games to teach your preschooler some basic skatingskills. This program is a pre-requisite to Preschool Level 1.

Preschool Level 1For children who have completed our Snowbunnies program orwho can get up by themselves and walk across the ice unassisted.Skills: Falling down, getting up, marching on the spot, skate widthof ice without falling, 2-foot glides, V-position of skates, snowplowscrapes, stationary 1-foot lift and introduction to backward skating(walking).
