Rusting DEWA cabinets in common areas aren’t a pleasing sight and adversely affect the aesthetics of the community. To address this issue, a contractor was appointed to carry out the required rectification and replacement of damaged utility cabinets with the approval of DEWA. Please ensure that the meter cabinets installed in your carports are maintained regularly to upkeep the appearance of your villa and the community.

Road markings in the community have become faded over time. This is a safety hazard and affects the aesthetics of the community as well. To enhance community safety, repainting of the speed humps, parking lines, stop lines, rumble strips and line markings across The Springs community with durable and long lasting thermoplastic paint has been commissioned.

Really clear road markings

Generally, when there’s a leak in a water pipeline, DEWA carries out the necessary maintenance by excavating and exposing the underground pipes. However, often, the contractors do not restore the site to its original condition after the work. This causes extreme inconvenience to the community and is also a safety concern.

In order to maintain the aesthetics of the community and create a risk-free environment for our residents, a contractor has been appointed to restore the excavated areas. Since work by DEWA is ongoing at various locations across The Springs, this process of restoration will be a continuous exercise over the course of the year.

Dealing with leaks

Your community is an even safer place now with the closure of open sikkas that connect The Springs to the main roads. This has stopped illegal workers, gardeners and non-residents from entering the community and subsequently incidents of trespassing as well as community violations have reduced.

Putting a stop to trespassing

If you’re a tenant, download the Occupant Information Form from emiratesliving.ae and submit it to the community

Finding your way from point A to point B in Dubai just got a whole lot easier with the introduction of Makani, the official geo-addressing system. Meaning “my location” in Arabic, the 10 digit number provides an accurate location to all buildings and villas in Dubai.

The new system will be used by all government organisations, police, ambulance services, corporate organisations, residents and tourists. Accurate to one square metre, Makani is available on all smartphones, tablets and GPS devices.

Here’s how you can use it:

• Visit makani.ae or download the “Makani Dubai” application from GooglePlay (Android store) or the AppStore (iPhones)• Enter the Makani number in the search field of the page or in the app to find the location/route to your location

Makani will then show you the shortest possible route to your destination.

Never lose your way

Entrances play an essential role in welcoming residents and visitors into the community. For this reason, a lot of effort goes into ensuring that they are aesthetically pleasing and functionally efficient. The 23 gates at The Springs parks which were installed at the time of project handover, have endured significant exposure to the elements and wear and tear over time.

A contractor has been appointed to replace the old park gates in The Springs as per local and international Health and Safety standards. The sample gate installed has been reviewed and approved by our technical engineers and work is expected to commence in Q2.

Enhancing community entrances

A walk around the lake will soon be a brighter experience as the improvement of common area lighting is underway. To promote better safety standards and energy efficiency, LED bollard lights will be installed around the lakes in Emirates Living during the second half of this year.

Lighting up lake areas

As part of our community improvement projects, the sikkas in The Springs are being repainted. The work is in progress and is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2015.

Painting in progress

There have always been notices at all swimming pools in the community to keep you informed of important events, community related information, etc. However, to enhance visibility and ensure messaging gets across in the best possible way, new notice boards have been installed across the community. The new notice boards are made from weatherproof material to withstand the extreme summer temperatures. So the next time you’re passing a notice board, please take a moment to read the message.

Take notice!
