Environmental Document
Requirement of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Requires INDOT to analyze and evaluate the
impacts of a proposed project to the natural and socio-economic environments
Impacts are described in environmental document Environmental document was released for public
involvement February 2013
Environmental Document Development of document begins once purpose and
need for the project has been clearly identified
Develop a number of possible alternatives including a “Do Nothing” alternative as a baseline for comparison
Screen alternatives to identify a preferred alternative
Solicit public comment on environmental document and preliminary design plan
Solicit, address, and fully consider public comments as part of decision making process

On S.R. 930 from approximately 330ft west of Green Street to approximately 500ft east of Green Street

3R Road Network Traffic Signal Improved Drainage Right turn lanes on S.R. 930 Left turn lanes on Green Street
S.R. 930 Purpose and Need
Enhance safety while reducing traffic accidents by separating turning traffic from through traffic
Sight distance on Green Street restricted due to the steep approach grade and minimum curve
Improve capacity of the roadway

Safety 35 accidents 20 rear end collisions 5 right angle collisions 3 year period Personal injuries

Existing traffic (2012) is 24,780 vehicles per day Projected traffic (2032) is 37,200 vehicles per day

S.R. 930 Eastbound 1 through lane; 1 left & 1 right turn lane Westbound 1 through; 1 left & 1 right turn

Green Street Northbound 1 through lane, 1 left & 1 right turn lane Southbound 1 through lane, 1 left & 1 right turn lane
Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)
Roadway will be constructed in phases Storm sewer trunk line construction will be first
phase S.R. 930 and Green Street south of S.R. 930 will then
be constructed by halves Green Street north of S.R. 930 will be closed during
part of the construction Every effort will be made to maintain traffic and
phase construction
