The SRS Management and Operating (M&O) Contractor providesSafeguards and Security support to all facilities on the SRS, including the following EM facilities:

• H-Area, K-Area, and L-Area SNM facilities

• Savannah River National Laboratory

• Liquid Waste & Salt Waste Processing Facilities

• General Site Area

• DOE Savannah River Operations Office

SRS EM Facilities have 22 Material Balance Areas from Cat I to Cat IV

The Electronic Safeguards and Security System (E3S) is the SRS-developed alarm management and control system currently deployed in 3 of 4 major SRS areas.

• E3S integrates various security subsystems at SRS:• Intrusion Detection System (IDS)

• Access Control System (ACS)

• Closed Circuit Television (CCTV)

• Plantwide Access Enrollment System (PAES)

• Biometric Access Control Host (BACH) System

• Field installation started in mid 1980’s; Last area became operational in 1994.

E3S is being replaced with Argus.• The SRS M&O contractor is executing design and construction of 4

Argus subprojects covering all SRS facilities.• H-Area Argus installation was complete in June 2020.

Schedule based on current funding profile:• K-Area Argus final design initiated 2/2020, complete 7/2022 with

construction complete 4Q 2025.• L-Area design to begin in 10/2022 with construction complete 4Q

2027.• SRNL and Balance of Plant design to begin in 2022 with construction

complete 4Q 2028.
