To foster a culture that celebrates education – particularly in the Sciences,
Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) through empowering STEM
professionals to bring an added “richness” to their communities; as well as to provide a path
for students, particularly those under represented, for STEM employment.
“richness” = rigor, relevance, relationship, reaffirmation
Vision
DoD has biggest stake in this problem and fewest options

Partnerships
Formal Partnership Agreements to aid in the educational experience middle and high school students who can benefit from the expertise, unique facilities and equipment related to science and engineering conducted at SSC Pacific. SSC Pacific’s contributions to this partnership will help to encourage student interest in science, mathematics and engineering, particularly undersea science and technology; may benefit the laboratory in terms of advance training of future employees; and may benefit the country by encouraging interest in the sciences and engineering by young people at the beginning of their career definition stage.
