Welcome to St. André’s Parish! No matter who you are, where you’ve come from, or what brings you here, we’re so glad to have you with us. St. André Bessette (1845-1937) spent much of his life serving as the door-keeper of his religious community; like him, we strive to open doors for our neighbors to experi-ence the loving mercy of God. May Jesus fill your heart with his grace and peace!

Steve at 483-1300 or 483-4074, or Cathy Russell, the Diocesan Vocation Coordinator at (315)393-2920, ext. 1450/[email protected]. See us also on Facebook or at www.myvocation.net.

From Deacon Brent…..

Where two or three are gathered, I am in their mist. This doesn’t mean when we are praying alone God ignores our prayers. It simply means we are called to share our faith! After all we should never be ashamed or feel that our faith is a secret. That’s why we gather together as a strong community on this and every Sunday. Although we are far from what normal used to be, I really am inspired by the willingness of everyone to make the best of this ―new normal‖ together as a people of faith. We will always do the best we can. Fr. Steve continues to do well, keep praying form him! On Sep-tember 14th, the moving process begins from Rennie Street to Homestead Park. We really don’t anticipate any problems with the move, our dedicated staff will work hard to make this a smooth transition. Deacon Nick and Mary are working hard to come up with a reli-gious education program that works for everyone. Keep an eye on your emails for some important information will be sent out. If you see them, make sure to thank them for their willingness to once again lead this important ministry. The COVID-19 has made this extremely difficult this year. We would like to hear from!! How are we doing? We are always looking for comments or suggestions. Everyone of you are im-portant to us so reach out to a parish council member, myself, a staff member or one of the clergy. I hope your week is filled with many blessings.

PRAYER TO THE VIRGIN MARY FOR PROTECTION

O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope.

We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick. At the foot of the Cross you participated in

Jesus’ pain, with steadfast faith. You, Our Lady of New York, know what we

need. We are certain that you will provide, so that, as you did a Cana of Galilee,

joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love,

to conform ourselves to the Father’s will and to do what Jesus tells us:

He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross,

to the joy of Resurrection. Amen. We seek refuge under your protection,

O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas - we who are put to the test -

and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.

Prayer During Coronavirus

Mary Immaculate, our Mother and our Patron-ess, we ask you to intercede for us with your

Son, as you did at the wedding in Cana.

Pray for us, loving Mother, and gain for our diocese, our nation and our

world, for our families and loved ones, the pro-tection of your Maternal mantle from this dreaded virus.

In this time of trial and testing, teach all of us to love one another and to be

patient and kind. Help us to bring the peace and healing Presence of

Jesus to our land and to our hearts.

We come to you with confidence, knowing that you are our compassionate mother,

health of the sick and cause of our joy. Keep us in the embrace of your arms,

Help us always to know the love of your Son, Jesus our Lord AMEN.

An Act of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the

Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things,

and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive

You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.

I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.

Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

"There are three kinds of giving: grudge giving says, I have to; duty giving says, I ought to; thanksgiving says, I want to. The first comes from constraint; the second from a sense of obligation; the third from a full heart." Rev. Robert Rodenmayer

Sacrament of Baptism Parents who wish to have a child baptized should contact Rev. Steven Murray to make arrangements for the date and for a program of preparation. Parents are highly encour-aged to make arrangements at least three months before the child is born, as the Catholic Church encourages Baptism for infants as soon as possible after birth. Adults and older children (seven years or older) interested in Baptism or en-tering into full communion with the Catholic Church should inquire about the program of preparation (R.C.I.A.: the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults).

Sacrament of Matrimony A Catholic wishing to be married in one of our churches should contact one of the priests at least six months prior to the desired date in order to begin making arrangements. A program of preparation is required. The parish should be contacted before any other plans are made—for example, the wedding reception.

Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick For those preparing for surgery, nursing home residents, or the homebound, contact one of the parish priests to make arrangements to be anointed. For those in the hospital (especially in the event of an emergency), ask the hospital staff to contact the priest on call.
