The 2020 Annual Parish Christmas Collection for Catholic Charities is coming up! 2020 has been a challenging year for many of us and our neighbors, so we ask that you consider making a special gift to support the needy and disenfranchised throughout our diocese by supporting Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington’s programs. This allows you to play a direct role in spreading the love of Christ for the poor. Look for a special insert in the parish bulletin at Mass next weekend. If donating by check, please note Catholic Charities on the memo line, or make a gift online at www.ccda.net/donate/ChristmasCollection. Your generosity is deeply appreciated.

BAPTISM
Baptisms are scheduled the 1st & 3rd Sundays each month at 2:00 pm in the Holy Family Chapel. To help provide social distancing, we are currently limiting baptisms to two families each day.
A baptismal date will only be scheduled when all paperwork is complete and received in the Parish Office, at least one week prior to the intended Baptism date.
The “Baptism Information Form” to be completed is found on our website (st-andrew.org) under the “Liturgy & Sacraments” tab.
Baptism Class: All parents (who have not previously attended a Baptism preparation class) are required to attend a class prior to the baptism. If you attend a class at another parish, be sure to request a class attendance letter. You will need to present that letter to the Parish Office so we may record your date of class attendance.
To register for a class or if you have questions about Baptism: Call the Parish Office at 703-817-1770 or email [email protected].
NOVEMBER 29, 2020 - FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT
Novena Prayer to St. Andrew
Hail and blessed be the hour and moment in which the Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in piercing cold.
In that hour, vouchsafe, O my God! To hear my prayer and grant my desires, through the merits of Our Savior Jesus Christ, and of His Blessed Mother. Amen.
Reciting this special novena prayer fifteen times each day from the Feast of Saint Andrew (November 30) until Christmas Eve is a simple yet beautiful way to celebrate the Advent season.
“O LORD, you are our father; we are the clay and you the potter: we are all the work of your hands.”
Could God's plans for you involve being a priest or sister?
Contact Fr. Michael Isenberg via email at [email protected] or call
(703) 841-2514.

The Parish Giving Tree...is in the vestibule this weekend. Please select a tag from the tree, purchase the gift or gift card, and return the unwrapped gift with the ornament you selected attached to the Parish Office NO LATER THAN December 6. Gifts MUST be received by the Parish Office on or before that date so we can make sure the gift is delivered on time. Many of the charities need to receive the donations
earlier than in past years so the items can be quarantined before delivery to those in need.
There are options for “contactless” giving tree donations. just take a picture of the sign that will be posted on the Giving Tree and fulfill the charity’s needs from the comfort of your home. Or visit the parish website and use the links provided.
We are helping the following charities this year: Our Neighbor’s Child, Catholic Charities, Mary’s Shelter, Missionaries of Charity, as well as families in our parish community. Thank you and may God bless you for your generosity! Give a Gift for Life
Please give a Gift for Life this season to help Project Rachel provide counseling and healing retreats to those who suffer the effects of abortion. One participant wrote: “The genuine love and support from the Project Rachel retreat has enabled me to let go of my anger and deep pain from my abortion. I am like a new person who has left the darkness and entered the light. For more information and/or to donate: www.arlingtondiocese.org/giftforlife

PRAYER TO JESUS FOR
HEALING & GUIDANCE
Jesus, Son of God. You were sent by the Father to bear our weakness; be with us in this time of crisis. Merciful Savior, heal and comfort the sick, so that, with health restored, they may give you praise. Divine Physician, accompany our caregivers so that, serving with patience, they may heal wisely. Eternal Wisdom, guide our leaders, so that, seeking remedies, they may follow your light. Christ, the Anointed, protect us in body and spirit, so that, freed from harm, we may be delivered from all affliction. Who live and reign with God the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
