New Parishioners Welcome to all new families/individuals! Please register as soon as possible using registration forms available in the church office, in the narthex or on our website. Membership is a condition for the reception of the Sacraments of Bap-tism, First Eucharist, Confirmation and Marriage. Registration is also required before the parish can issue a sponsorship certificate for those asked to be sacra-mental sponsors. You must be a registered, contributing member for at least three months before a certificate is provided.
Welcome Visitors! The community of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church extends our warmest welcome to all visitors and sincerely prays that you enjoyed sharing Mass with us to-day. If you are a newcomer and wish to be contacted, please fill out a Visitor and Newcomer card located in the narthex of the church. You may place it in the collection basket or give it to an usher.
BAPTISMS: Godparents and parents who wish to have their children baptized must attend a Baptism Preparation Class scheduled every second and third Friday of the month at 7 p.m. in Spanish. English classes are by ap-pointment. All Baptisms are held the third Saturday of the month at 11 a.m. Please contact the parish office 2-3 months prior to register. Please bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate.
BAUTISMOS: Padres y Padrinos que desean tener a sus hijos bautizados deben atender dos clases de preparación bautismal. Serán cada segundo y tercer viernes del mes a las 7 pm. Todos los bautismos se llevarán a cabo el tercer sábado del mes a las 11am. Por favor llamar a la oficina 2-3 meses antes del bautismo. Traer una copia del certifica-do de nacimiento de su hijo.
1st CONFESSION, 1st COMMUNION AND CONFIR-
MATION: Sacramental preparation classes for children begin anew in October of each year at St. Andrew. Classes are held on Wednesday nights at 6 p.m. Please contact the Director of Religious Education, Gloria Pittman at 936-
404-2362, [email protected], or the church office with any questions.
WEDDINGS: Couples planning to marry should call the church office and schedule an appointment with Fr. Joe at least six months (ideally 12 months) prior to the planned wedding date.
ILLNESSES: If your loved one is sick or hospitalized please notify the parish office or Fr. Joe. Information nec-essary: name of patient, name of hospital, and room num-ber.
RCIA-Adult Sacraments-Becoming Catholic: A process for adults to become familiar with the teachings of the Catholic Church and discern God’s call in becoming full members of the Church. Please call Lorraine Lambert at 936-225-1175 for more information.

CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PROGRAM
The Children's Christmas Play will begin at 4:30 pm on Christmas Eve, before The Chil-dren's Mass at 5 pm. We will have practice on Thursday December 21st in the church from 6 pm - 7 pm. All children in 1st through 5th grade are invited and encouraged to partici-pate!

Fellowship
There will be no fellowship with coffee and refreshments after the 10 o'clock Mass on December 31. Fellowship and refreshments after Mass on the 1st Sunday of each month will resume in January 2018. Hope to see you all there!

There will be no Faith Formation Classes and RCIA on December 24 and 31 because of the Holidays. Classes will resume on January 7.

I'VE BEEN HAD
"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me." —Isaiah 61:1
To meet Christ this Christmas, we need the Holy Spirit to guide us (see Jn 16:13). Most of us have the Holy Spirit because we have been baptized and confirmed. However, the central question is: "Does the Holy Spirit have us?"
• Do we relate to the Holy Spirit as a Person? (see Catechism, 686) • Does the Holy Spirit possess our lives to direct us as He wills? • With Mary, have we said to the Holy Spirit: "Let it be done to me according to Your word"? (see Lk 1:38) • Are we quenching the Spirit (1 Thes 5:19) — or are we baptized in, that is, immersed in the Holy Spirit?
(Mk 1:8) • Are we preoccupied with the Holy Spirit? • Do we walk, talk, work, pray, eat, buy, love, think, and sleep in the Holy Spirit? (see Gal 5:25) • Have we offered our bodies to be the temples of the Spirit? (1 Cor 6:19) • Do we have the life in the Spirit or merely occasional moments in the Spirit?
The only true Christmas Spirit is the Holy Spirit. Are you in the Christmas Spirit? "Come, Holy Spirit!"
