St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Ar-naudville will host the annual Memorial Mass for Auguste “Nonco” Pelafigue at 10:30 am on

Sunday, June 30, 2019. In honor of Nonco’s native roots, the Mass will be celebrated in French by Bishop J. Douglas Deshotel. Father Travis Abadie, pastor of St. John Francis Regis and Father Gary Schexnayder, retired priest and native of Arnaudville will concelebrate. Dea-con Kenneth Arnaud will assist. The Mass will honor the 45th Anniversary of Nonco's death and his devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

All are invited to attend. Prayer cards will be distributed, and immediately following the Mass there will be a spe-cial procession from the church to a reception in the Lit-tle Flower Auditorium, the same location where Nonco held his annual Sacred Heart Plays.

In addition to the Mass in Arnaudville, several other Masses will be celebrated worldwide in Nonco’s memory on June 30. Here in Louisiana, all 18 Sacred Heart church parishes throughout the state, including the five located within the Diocese of Lafayette (Baldwin, Broussard, New Iberia, Port Barre, and Ville Platte), will participate.
