God’s grace to the recipient, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Just a short note about our Visiting Priest this Summer, Fr. Raphael: Parish of Notre Dame of Immaculate Conception Mariani-Merger, Haiti Parish Priest: Father Raphael Claudener a native of Hinche, Haiti has been a priest for twenty-five years. Msgr. Joseph Serge Miot appointed Fr. Raphael Claudener as chief priest of Notre Dame Immaculate Conception Mariani-Merger on April 2, 2006.
Unfortunately, upon my arrival in that parish, Haiti suffer the devastation struck in 2010. Haiti suffered a huge setback, an earthquake that forced more people into the community that was already overcrowded with 13,000 people in this small community of Mariani-Merger.
Seeing more of a need, jumped into action creating outreach for the people of this community. Going door-to-door with little to no resources I quickly put the need of the community into perspective. Reaching out to 'Caritas Autriche' which is an international organization that provides outreach to Catholic charities. I then helped the parish organized a health fair with an onsite mobile clinic, providing health screenings and nutritionists for the people of the Mariani-Merger's well being. Caritas Autriche was so impressed with commitment and dedication to helping the people of Mariani-Merger. After sharing some ideas and goals to make this community more livable, Caritas Autriche funded the land for developing a more resourceful community. Now this is where the real work begins.
As you can see the blueprint shows the projected new Mariani-Merger which will now include, a fully equipped school, basketball court, library, cafeteria, professional school, park, church, health clinic, nutrition center, supermarket and a cemetery. In keeping up with urbanization the new community will be accessible to Route Nationale 2.
In his works, Fr. Raphael has created a raffle to help raise capital to put this community in place. This is only a small measure. Funding is needed to help bring this land of opportunity to fruition. Father Raphael’s contribution will not go unnoticed through his pastoral care, and continuous works through his missions and values. We thank you in advance. Please, any ideas, support, and resources are greatly appreciated. I would like to take the time out to thank Fr. Stan for the open invitation to print this information in your bulletin. Thanks, Fr. Raphael Claudener E-mail: [email protected] or phone (509)3779-1695/2227-7522

GUARDANDO NUESTROS COMPROMISOS
mujer a quererlo?
Pocas veces vemos a Jesús tan
vulnerable. Pedro y los apóstoles escogieron quedarse. ¿Qué vamos a hacer nosotros.

St. Anne’s Parish Outreach Update
The generosity of the
parishioners of St. Anne’s allows us to reach out to people
in our Brentwood neighborhood who struggle each day to make ends meet.
During these difficult economic times, there are so many more in need. Our parish outreach volunteers are trained to do confidential intakes and assessments
of the needs of the people who come to us for assistance.
Our June 2015 report indicated that we were able to assist: 6 seniors, 102 adults and 90 children with food and toiletries. We had 16 new families for that month.
Our July 2015 report indicated that we were able to assist: 16 seniors, 111 adults and
92 children with food and toiletries. We also had 8 new families.
When items are available at our outreach, we are able to give our clients gently used clothing, towels and bedding. Our clients are very grateful for these extra items. All of your donations
are truly appreciated by those who cannot afford to purchase them on their own.
We are currently gathering school supplies for our “Back to School Ministry Drive”. Clients with school age children who reside within our parish boundaries can register at our
outreach to receive some basic school necessities.
I am very grateful that I was asked to coordinate this ministry. However, I could not have managed without my faithful volunteers.
These wonderful people have made my transition from St. Patrick Parish Social Ministry to St. Anne’s an easy and an enjoyable journey.
If anyone would like to learn more about this ministry, please call me (273-8113 ext.229)
Thank you for all you do for this wonderful parish. Janet Lambert, Outreach Coordinator
