Dear Parishioners, Fr. Westphal and I would like to welcome our visitors who have joined us for the First Communion Masses this weekend. A special thank you to the teachers and catechists for a wonderful job preparing the students for our sacramental celebrations. Congratulations to our First Communicants! Thank you to both of the CRHP formation teams for their very successful CRHP weekends. I sensed the pow-erful presence of the Holy Spirit working his wonders in our midst. Thanks to all who participated. Remember: this is just the beginning... The Sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated here on Wed. May 13th at 7:00PM. Bishop Pates will be pre-siding. Due to Confirmation, there will NOT be 5:30PM Mass that evening. Please plan on joining us Sunday May 17th for our Cor-pus Christi Celebration and Eucharistic Procession.
There will be a Bi-lingual Mass at 10:30AM at the grotto, weather permitting. The 10:30AM Mass will combine the 10:00AM, 11:30AM and 1:15PM Masses. The Eucharistic Procession will immediately follow the Mass followed by a picnic lunch in the parish hall along with the celebration and recognition of The Pillars of the Parish. Envelopes are available on the table in front of the Sa-cred Heart altar for the Mother’s day novena of nine Masses. You may fill out the envelope with your living or deceased mother, grandmother, godmother, aunt or friend. The envelopes will be put into a bundle and placed on the altar during the Masses. What a special way to honor the women in our lives. Blessings,

GABRIEL PROJECT -- NOTICE At this time The Gabriel Project has an abundance of baby & mom items and will not be taking more donations. In addition, we are not accepting cash donations, as we are in the process of changing some procedures for helping the moms we serve. The short explanation for this change is that we do not have enough volunteers to keep operating in the manner we have in the past. We are fortunate to have plentiful resources as we continue to operate in a somewhat reduced manner until our resources are exhausted. We want to thank the members of this parish and all who have contributed to our efforts in helping pregnant women. Thank you for thinking of the Gabriel Project. We’d like to recommend Agape Preg-nancy Center, 2550 Marin Luther King, Jr. Parkway in Des Moines to con-sider for your future pro-life donations.
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY The hot breakfast on Sunday mornings has been canceled. Sorry for
any inconvenience that this may cause.

Hello families of St. Anthony, You may be reading this, feeling very crowded in your usual pew. I have to say, I am glad to hear that! No, not glad you are feeling crowded, but so grateful for the reason why. We are celebrating this weekend with 85 families, whose children are receiving their First Holy Commun-ion! What an amazing gift for those families and our parish commu-nity! If you know of anyone, or see them at Mass, take a moment to congratulate them. And please, as you already do, pray for all of the parishioners here, but especially our First Communicants. Our Confirmation Mass will be May 13th at 7pm, celebrated by Bishop Pates. All are welcome to come! As this school year begins to wind down, I ask you to be thinking and praying about joining our ministries here at St. Anthony, either as a Catechist or an assistant. We have kindergarten-8th grade on Sunday mornings, and Confirmation on Wednesday evenings. If you feel moved to serve in this way, or have any questions, please contact me. God's blessings to you all, Melissa Hill [email protected]
