ATTENDANCE – 97.65% This is a wonderful start to the year and we hope you will all do your best to be here every day next week so
that we achieve the magical 100%!
PUNCTUALITY – 11 lates This is a fair start to the year but it would be lovely to
see every child in school at 09.00 every day.
ATTENDANCE CHAMPIONS – Reception
How wonderful that our youngest children are our best attenders. What a good example to set to our
older children. Well done, Reception Class!

This is a lovely piece of RE work from Vuong in Year 6. We hope his grammar school test went well!
Parents – please remember… ♣ all items of clothing to be named ♣ all children to have FULL PE kit in school every week ♣ sensible shoes to be worn to school (no trainers) ♣ no extreme haircuts please.
Class Information Rec: All the Reception children are settling in very well and we are having fun getting to know one another. Year 1: Please label all your child’s clothing. Thank you for doing your homework. Year 2: Thank you for attending the Parents’ Evening. The children have worked very hard this week in Numeracy, learning to partition for addition. Keep practising at home. Year 3: Please check your child’s pumps to make sure they fit. These should be in school every day. Year 4: Please remember spelling tests are on Friday.
Year 5: Please re member your replies for the Alton Castle trip. Year 6: A super week, Year 6. You have made a great start to the year – keep up the hard work! Please remember homework books need to be in school on Mondays and Thursdays.
SAFEGUARDING
Always have your parents’ permission for using particular internet sites.
Make sure you wear your reflectors now that the evenings are growing darker.
Remember – tell, tell, tell if you are worried about something.
READ AND READ AND READ!!! Read, Write, Inc groups have started and everyone is working really hard on their sounds. Remember to bring in your homework folder every day. Fred needs your help to learn his sounds!
THE WEDNESDAY WORD Special word of the week is “Serving” – St Pope John Paul II said, ”To maintain a joyful family requires much from both t he parents and the
children. Each member of the family has to become, in a special way, the servant of the others.”
SCHOOL NEWS • Thank you for attending Parent Meetings this week for Y1, 2, and 6. • Clubs are due to start wb 28 September (next week). Please check your child’s bag for allocations. • Tennis Club is on Tuesdays and Wednesdays – £2 per session, payable in an envelope in the morning, please. • Football Club has now started on Fridays. There may be a few extra places – check with Miss McGrath. • Please note that this half term will finish after school on Thursday 22 October as we have a Teacher Day
booked on Friday 23 October. • Please remember to pay dinner money each MONDAY – send in a named envelope to be given to your
child’s class teacher. Please do not hand in loose dinner money to the office staff. • Our school nurse hopes to visit us every fortnight this year. Please watch out for further details. • We learned so much about using water safely and sensibly today with our visitor from Severn Trent.
MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING
A SPECIAL REMINDER
This lovely event will take place in the school hall this coming Friday 25 September at 09:00.
Please come along and meet other parents to support this vital charity in its work to support
individuals and families who are coping with serious illness.

“Let’s Get Fizzical!” The “Let’s Get Fizzical” project is now going to be based in various sports’ centres and community centres around the city. Please check the notice board for details of sessions in our local parks and centres. Ask at the school office for a flyer which entitles your child to a free wristband.
Shared Lunch
Congratulations to Anna K, Emmanuel A, Virginia, Jack, Amelia, Damian, Nelly, Rajan, Tram, Joshua T, Simranpreet and Bartosz Z who all shared lunch with Miss McGrath and Mrs Porter. Children are selected for showing acts of kindness, hard work, enthusiasm and sensible behaviour this week.
