Fr. Denis O’Brien S.A.C. is visiting our parish to speak at all the Masses about the missionary work of the Irish Pallottine

missionary outreach. The Pallottine Fathers were founded in

Rome in 1835. Their name is derived from the family name of their founder,

Saint Vincent Pallotti. He was a priest of the Diocese of Rome. He founded this religious

community to promote the revival of faith and charity in the world by encouraging the

apostolate of the laity and through the extension of the missionary work of the

Church. He died in 1850 and was canonized by Pope Saint John XXXIII on January 20,

1963. Today, Father Denis serves in Colombia. He is looking forward to sharing

RCIA STARTS ON SEPT. 13, 2017 Are you or someone you know interested in becoming Catholic? RCIA (Rites of Christian Initiation of Adults) (age 18 and up) is one of the most significant legacies of the Second Vatican Council. It is, in brief, the normal process or spiritual journey of faith by which one becomes Catholic. Consequently, it involves, more than passing on knowledge. It involves faith and community sharing, reflection on experience and Gospel values, with special emphasis on spirituality. It is a way of BEING church. If you or someone you know is interested in the Catholic Church and you are:

An un-baptized person A baptized Christian of another denomination A baptized Catholic never having received

Eucharist or need to be Confirmed Or if you are interested in becoming more spiritual

and knowledgeable in your faith You are invited to join our RCIA Group that will begin September 13, 2017. We meet every Wednesday evening from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM. in the Veranda Room. For further information, please call Deacon Steve Ellms at 340-2087 or just show up on Sept. 13th. Please spread the word, invite an interested friend to be part of this year’s new RCIA journey towards a closer relationship with God..
