Coalition, please accept our deepest condolences. We were shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the sudden death of Father Mathew. He was an incredible person with many remarkable quali-ties; but especially, he was kind, caring and compassion-ate. He always met you with a friendly smile and a warm greeting. His calming presence made you feel that no matter the challenge, all would be ok! He was deeply concerned about the poor and the under-served. So many of us at the Multi-faith ACTION Coalition were excited to work with Father Mathew, knowing that he was a committed partner who would work hard along side us to confront poverty. He will be terribly missed. We know this is a difficult and uncertain time in the life of your parish. Please let us know what we can do to sup-port you during this time. We are keeping you all in our prayers. We thank God for Father Mathew and his testimony to life. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him. With heartfelt condolences, Jasmine Tarkoff, Multi-faith ACTION Coalition Fr. Rafael Hinojosa From the Saint Anthony Parish community in Oakley, we offer our most sincere condolences to the entire St. Bonaventure Community. Be sure of our prayers for you all. May the soul of Fr. Mathew and Archbishop Jala and the souls of all the faithful departed Rest In Peace. St Michael Parish Livermore We are so heartbroken by this news. All of your brothers and sisters in Christ in Livermore are mourning with you. We are praying with you. Fr Mat was instrumental in helping us make Drive Through Prayer a success in our parish. His love and joy simply vibrated the air in the room. He will be sorely missed. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord... Normita Fenn Fr. Mat was a revered pastor, a loving friend and counse-lor to all. I am saddened by his untimely passing. His ad-miration of the church bulletin that I humbly dedicate every week has been a source of healing for me. Fr. Mat, thank you for inspiring me and for the joy you generously bestowed to everyone. Rest in peace. With loving thoughts... Barbara Wolpman He was a wonderful man and a great priest who had a contagious laughter, loved to joke and shared the won-derment of magic with the kids and the "young at heart"! He was kind, compassionate, enthusiastic and made you feel better even when news and daily life could be so frus-

Church of St. Anne Dear Fr. Oscar Rojas, Fr. David Lawrence, SJ, St. Bonaventure Staff and Parishioners, On behalf of Fr. Joseph Parekkatt and Fr. George da

Roza, the Staff and Parishioners at St. Anne's Parish in Wal-nut Creek wish to extend our deepest sympathies to you for your loss. Fr. Mathew was known to us, as he had presided over Mass here many times. We remember his wonderful smile, and deep faith, both of which he shared with everyone he met. Please know that all of you are in our daily prayers. We mourn with you, cry with you, but also believe with you that Fr. Mathew is now with our Savior, Jesus Christ. St. Augustine said, "Faith is to believe what you do not see; the reward of this faith is to see what you believe." Fr. Mathew is now rewarded in Heaven. He still smiles, still watches over you and prays for you. Feel his blessing upon you. Your brothers and sisters in Faith, The Staff and Parishioners at St. Anne's Fr. A.J. Dear Bonaventure, I am here with you in this moment of deepest saddest at the news of the tragedy that has happened to Fr Matthew and the Bishop from India, Archbishop Dominic Jala. May the courage of the Lord seize our hearts to absorb this deep pain and loss. I am still in shock and I can understand the shock all of you will be, at the great loss of our beloved, dynamic pastor Fr Matthew. He always made every one of us smile and create a positive energy to keep going with enthusiasm and joy. Now, the source of that smile and energy has suddenly gone, we all, I am sure are like sheep without a shepherd. Let the mercy of the Lord in this moment of helplessness, fill our hearts and encourage our faith to remain in hope and to pray for the dear departed. May they Rest in Peace. Of-fering Holy Eucharist for Fr Mathew and Bishop tomorrow. I am praying for all of you dearest Bonaventure. My heart-felt condolences to you. All Saints’ Day: Friday, November 1st This year the Solemnity of All Saints falls on Thursday, November 1st. This is a Holy Day of Obligation. We will celebrate three special Masses in the church honoring the Saints: 6:30am, 9:00am, & 7:30pm. All Souls’ Day—Mass of Remembrance: Saturday, November 2nd We will celebrate All Souls’ Day with one Mass of Remembrance in the church on Saturday, November 2nd at 8:00am. All those who have been buried from our parish during the past year will be honored with a special read-ing of their names at all of the Mass-es during the Prayer of the Faithful. In addition, you are welcome to bring a photograph or memento of a deceased loved one and place it on one of the memorial tables in the sanctuary during the Mass you at-tend on November 2nd. All Souls’ Remembrance Envelopes During the month of November, we remember all of our loved ones who have passed on. You may remember your loved ones in a special way by picking up an All Souls’ envelope, writing their names and placing your

gift to the parish inside, and then re-turning the envelope either to the parish office or by placing it in the collection basket. These envelopes, along with the Book of the Names of the Dead, will be placed in a promi-nent place in the church sanctuary throughout November so that those who have died may be remembered in a special way during the month. Envelopes may be found on the back tables at the side doors, and on the table in the foyer. Book Study—Sign Up Now! The Time Is Now — A Call for Uncom-mon Courage, by Joan Chittister, OSB Join Fr.
