Mission Statement “As one Eucharistic community, we welcome with joy, embrace with respect, and love with sincerity
all who desire to make Jesus the center of their lives, proclaiming and living the Gospel in fidelity to the teachings of the Holy Catholic Church.”
November 10, 2019 32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time
CONFIDENCE IN THE LORD
We are nearing the end of the liturgical year. Today’s readings remind us that our own lives will draw to a close one day, and we can be certain that the Lord will encourage, strengthen, and save us—both now and at the last. The astonishing story of the Maccabees invigorates our faith as we behold an entire family willing to die rather than deny the Law of Moses. The psalm response echoes the faithful cries of the Maccabees: “I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God.” That same confidence appears in Saint Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians. “The Lord is faithful,” he testifies; “he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.” In the Gospel, Jesus explains just how long God’s protection will endure. The children of God whom God guards, Jesus says, will live forever like angels. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.
Today’s Readings
First Reading — The King of the world will raise us up to live again forever (2 Maccabees 7:1-2, 9-14).
Psalm — Lord, when your glory appears, my joy will be full (Psalm 17).
Second Reading — May the Lord encourage and strengthen your hearts (2 Thessalonians 2:16 — 3:5).
Gospel — Those who are deemed worthy of the coming age can no longer die (Luke 20:27-38 [27, 34-38])
BOOK OF LIFE
November is the traditional month where we remember our beloved deceased. The ‘Book of Life’ is set up at the front of the Church. Please write the names of your deceased loved ones in this special book and they will be remembered at all our November Masses.
“Year of Prayer” We encourage you to pray with your families on a regular basis. Copies of the Holy Spirit prayer are available at all entrances to the church, please take one home.
"And they who for their country die shall fill an honoured grave, for glory lights the soldier's tomb, and beauty weeps the brave."

Thank you for your prayers and reflecon during
October for the Extraordinary Mission Month
that Pope Francis declared for the universal church.
This year’s theme, “Bapzed and Sent, The Church
of Christ on Mission In The World," reminds all
bapzed Catholics of our responsibility to share in the missionary
work of the church. Keep in your prayers those who are acvely
engaged in mission, reflecng upon the universal nature of the
church, and to witness the "call' of all the faithful to be
missionary disciples.
Avow – Vocation Discernment Groups for Catholic Women Every woman is called to make a gift of herself in love. Discovering the form the gift will take is the art of discernment. Avow is a small group for Catholic women, ages 18 to 35, who gather for heart-to-heart conversation and study as they embark on the journey of discernment together. Avow is not a program to recruit or convince you of your vocation; rather it is designed to create an atmosphere of freedom and openness for the authentic pursuit of the Father’s will. Meetings are held monthly. For more information please contact Maureen at Windsor Madonna House [email protected].
