This Sunday, February 23rd, we will celebrate 102 ofour young parishoners as they receive the Sacramentof Confirmation at our 11:00 AM Mass. After Mass, inlieu of our regular hospitality, we will be hosting acake reception in Seton Hall. All parishioners arewelcome to join.

The Knights of Columbus Council #15921, based at St. Elizabeth Ann SetonParish, are proud to announce they are continuing their $500 ScholarshipAward program. The scholarship will be awarded to a graduating highschool senior who is a member of the parish. The recipient will berecognized during the senior Mass celebrated for the 2020 graduatingclass. Mt. Calvary Cemetery Clean-upMt. Calvary Cemetery Clean-upThere will be a total cleanup at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, IAstarting after March 15th and will continue as weather permits. We will beremoving all flowers, wreaths and decorations. Prior to March 15th, pleaseremove all items you wish to keep from around your loved one’s grave site.You may begin placing seasonal flowers again starting April 15th. Fasting and Abstinence During LENTFasting and Abstinence During LENTAsh Wednesday and Good Friday are obligatory days offasting and abstinence for Catholics. Fridays during Lent areobligatory days of abstinence.
For members of the Latin Catholic Church (This is the one we belong to!), the norms on fasting areobligatory from age 18 until age 59. When fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal, as wellas two smaller meals that together are not equal to the full meal. The norms concerning abstinencefrom meat are binding upon members of the Latin Catholic Church from age 14 onward.

Our agenda will include an overview andfirst training of the new video control capabilities, anintroduction into some advanced audio soundboardfeatures, how to recover from an "Oh No!" audio event, anda quick update on plans to upgrade the Seton Hallprojector.
As a community of parishioners with a passion to bring others closer to Christ byensuring clear communication, facilitating personal engagement and providingdiversity in message delivery utilizing latest technology, our mission is to help ourministers make a personal connection with each person at Mass.
If you share our passion, we would love to have you come see what's heretoday and what's coming in the future. Full training and mentoring is provided toensure you are comfortable operating audio and video, helping install newequipment and participate in future planning.
