Colomendy

• Set in 130 acres of beautiful Welsh hills, valleys and open countryside.

Children will sleep in chalets12 children to a dormitory.There is a teachers room next to each dormitory.There is a shared bathroom with toilets and showers.Bedding is provided.The cabins are secure and main doors are kept locked at all times.

Accommodation

Colomendy

• Leave school at 9:15am• Loggerheads• Packed lunch required for first day• Leave Colomendy at 3pm.• Arrive back at school by 4.30pm.

The trip will form the basis of a mini topic – Go Wild. Children will work on the topic the week before and the week after.All activities will link to the topic.Children will reflect on activities afterwards.

Day 1 will be spent at Loggerheads Country Park which is opposite Colomendy Centre – Weather permitting. We will check into Colomendy earlier if it is too wet.The children will take part in a 2 mile walk involving a quiz, sketching the landscape (fabulous view of Moel Famau, mini beast hunt, leaf identification.They will also have their packed lunch here and an opportunity to spend their money in the gift shop.

Activities – 3G swing

This high adrenaline activity encourages individuals to set their own goals and challenge their limits, whilst building trust with their teammates. The group work together to hoist one participant in a harness up in the air on our 3G swing, as high or low as they like. When they are ready, the participants will pull the ripcord to release them self and feel the G-force as they swing back and forth. This is an exhilaratingchallenge by choice activity.

Activities – Crate Stack

One of our exciting High Ropes elements, secure in a helmet and harness, students work together in teams to get their group as high as possible by adding crates to the stack without it collapsing.

See provided list.Weather - Hot – sun cream and hats essentialWaterproofs also essential.No phone calls home will be made –can be unsettlingA book to read is useful for early risersMake sure bags are labeled on the outside so children can identify them when they get off the coach.It is useful for children to pack their own bags so that they know what they have got and where it is. This saves children getting muddled when we are there.Disposable cameras should be labelled and are the children’s responsibility – no pictures should be put onto any social networking sites.Spending money £3 in a labelled wallet/purse

Medical/Personal Requirements

• Any medication must be given to the teacher on the morning of the trip – NOT PUT IN THE CHILD’s BAG!

• Medication forms must be completed.• Any personal issues or concerns – speak to

class teacher.
