Presidents Message—Steve Soltwedel We kicked off the season with our first Membership Meet- ing of the season at the Pub n Prime. It was good to see everyone that showed up. Membership renewals have been mailed out so it is time to renew those memberships and order your trail passes and of course, look those sleds over and get them ready while the weather is warm. On August 25 th we held our annual Golf with the Groomer Drivers outing at the St Germain Golf Club. A good time was had by all with 95 golfers participating and 77 Hole Spon- sors. All of these numbers exceed the prior year. Thanks to all who participated, the Hole Sponsors and to Jim Wendt and Bob Ausloos who put countless hours in organizing and to the Directors who helped solicit Hole Sponsors. The St Germain Chamber of Commerce presented us with a donation for assisting with the Bacon Dash Run during Pig in the Pines weekend. We sincerely thank them, their mem- bers and Dave Walker for organizing the volunteers that your club supplied to help with the event. We are making good progress on the repair to our Groomer Barn. It should be completed within the month and on budget. If you are in town, stop by and check it out. Dont forget to help with our brushing day on Saturday October 19 th . We really need the help this year since the groomer barn repair caused delays in getting our equipment out to do the major brushing. Your Board of Directors would like to establish a Fund Raising Committee to brainstorm ideas for new fund raisers. It is a great way to meet other members and help form the financial path for our clubs future. If you would like to vol- unteer to be on this committee, please contact any board member. (Members are re- sponsible for the payment of the reservation whether they attend or not.) Who are the Apple Dumplings? The Apple Dumpling Gang is a group of good looking men (mostly retired, but a few are still working) who snowmobile together every Wednesday during the season. This is an informal group so there are no dues or duties. On Wednesdays they leave the groomer barn at 9 AM sharp. All you have to do is show up. Socializing is usually available there starting at 8:15 AM. There is a contribution for each ride to cover the cost of the drinks and lunch for that day. The group also has a kick-off dinner in November, a 3-day Overnighter Trip, a Potato Pancake Breakfast in mid-winter, and Brunch to end the season in March. Why not come ride with them? Secretary’s Report—Kay Schultz With the passing of Labor Day, the unofficial fall season has started. Our herdof hummingbirds have left for their long journey to South America, many of the trees are displaying the beautiful colors of autumn, the fawns have just a hint of their spots left and some of the deer are wearingtheir win- ter coats. With all of this happening, it wont be long before the snowmobiling season will be here. We had our first member- ship dinner on September 10 th with 56 members attending. Once again Pub n Prime did not disappoint with an outstand- ing meal. Thanks to Sue and her staff for a great evening. It s time to get your club renewals in so that you can get your trail passes ordered. Start rehearsing your snow dances be- cause it wont be long before we will be looking for a good snow cover. I personally cannot wait for that day. Kay

Trail Boss—Jim Wendt The new north end of the groomer barn has really taken shape since last month! The contractors we selected have done a great job thus far and the finish line is within sight. We were able to increase the footprint 5’ to the north and 6’ to the west which will make it less cramped. We hope to be finished in another week or two. I hope you have followed the pictures on Facebook thanks to Ed Siergiej.....it’s getting exciting as we put the final touches to our home. Club brushing is coming up on Saturday, October 19th. Meet at the groomer barn at 9:00 am. I hope you can plan to attend. Get your renewals in as we continue to be the statewide leader with over 1,100 mem-bers. I hope your off season has been enjoy-able, maybe even with the purchase of some new iron for the snow season ahead. If you see my truck at the barn, stop in for a tour, I know you will be impressed. Happy Trails, Jim

SNOWMOBILE SAFETY EDUCATION CLASS

December 14 & 15, 2019

The Bo-Boen Snowmobile Club’s Snowmobile Safety Edu-cation Class will be held on Saturday and Sunday, December 14 & 15, 2019 at the St. Germain Community Center. Any-one 11years of age or older is eligible to take the class and receive a safety education certificate, however, the certifi-cate does not become valid until the child reaches 12 years of age. Pre-registration is required by calling Peggy Ausloos at (715) 542-3548 or online at gowild.wi.gov.

Beginning January 1, 2001, any person born on or after January 1, 1985 and who has reached the age of 12, must have completed and received a snowmobile safety certifi-cate in order to operate a snowmobile in Wisconsin. The certificate must be carried while operating the snowmobile, and displayed to a law enforcement officer upon demand.

All students are required to obtain a Wisconsin DNR Cus-tomer ID# as part of the criteria to graduate from any Rec-reational Safety Class and provide that number to their in-structor. Students can obtain a DNR Customer ID# from St. Germain Sport Marine during business hours or by calling 1-888-936-7463 between 7 AM and 10 PM. You can also visit a Wisconsin DNR Service Center during their regular scheduled hours. You will need to provide your social security number. For additional DNR Service Center hours and locations go to www. gowild.wi.gov and click on the “Get Started” tab.
