This week we will explore the

The administration of fall STAR standardized assessment ended

last week, and Parent Reports are enclosed in your Monday

Messenger today. The majority of our student population tested in

the high average to above average range in reading and math.

Administration and teachers are available to answer any questions

you may have about the information in your parent reports.

As you know, our school earned full accreditation status through

the Western Catholic Educational Association and the Western

Association of Schools and Colleges following the WCEA

Visiting Team visit last spring. The report of their findings is now

available on the school website in the Parent Portal under

Accreditation. I encourage you to take a moment to check out this

interesting read that will shed light on the BIG PICTURE of our

school community.

Last year, several of our school families applied to the Bishop

Flores Scholarship Fund for assistance with tuition financing.

I am delighted to report that the sum of $3,410 was awarded to

the school this year. We are grateful to the Diocese of San Diego

for their support of Catholic school families at our school and

across the diocese.

A BIG “Thank You” to our wonderful PTSG Board (Lynda

Rowin, Noelle Barno and Marjorie Owens) for providing

refreshments at the amazing CyberEd Consulting presentation last

week. Jon Moffat, presenter, was both entertaining and very

informative, offering great tools and tips to both students and

parents on how to develop a tech contract, use digital settings to

manage the social media, and maintain a safe and protected

presence in cyberspace.

Blessings for a great week,

Mrs. O’Connell

himself in strength or

power, but in the

weakness and fragility

of a newborn babe.”

Box Tops are an easy way for St. Gregory to make extra money. Each box top is

worth .10¢. There is a BOX

TOPS box in each of the classrooms. There will be two collections this year.

The first BOX TOP collection deadline is Friday, October 14th.

The top two classes that turn in the most box tops will earn a pizza party at the end of the school year. To help the process along, please clip your box tops along the dotted red line of each box top before turning them in.

Thank you everyone for helping our school with this great and easy fundraiser. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me.
