Council
Nominations
We have four
openings for the Pastoral Council
for the 2018-2019 season. The
Pastoral Council meets every
second Wednesday from
September through June. The
purpose of the Council is to be
advisory to the pastor as it tracks
the work of Parish committees
and issues of Parish life. The
council has been more recently
involved in helping the Parish
visualize the living of its mission
of serving the Gospel through an
organizational chart that
highlights those in leadership,
needs for committee members
and statements of each
committee’s nature and purpose. You can nominate yourself or
others. We are also taking
names for a high school
representative (junior or senior in
the fall).

Memorial Day Cemetery Mass
The St. James Cemetery
at 9:00 am on Memorial
Day, Monday, May 28,
2018. Bring a lawn chair. If weather is
inclement, Mass will be in Church.
The St. James
Annual Lawn Sale to
benefit our fellow
parishioners of St.
Ives, Haiti will be held
Saturday and Sunday, July 28 and 29, 2018.
The best way to donate your clean usable
items is to bring them to the usual sale
site on Route 20 East of Cazenovia on
Friday, July 27th. Storage for our sale
continues to be available at Cazenovia Self
Storage on Route 20, for drop off. If you have
items too big to move yourself, we can
arrange to pick them up Thursday, July 26 or
Friday, July 27. If necessary, we can pick up
large items for storage beginning June 2.
Please call Kevin Kennedy, 315-662-3899 for
more information. Sorry no mattress, sleeper
sofas, exercise equipment or clothing. We
will need lots of help from Thursday, July 26th
to Thursday, August 2nd. Sincere thanks for
your thoughtfulness in helping with this very
worthy cause.
FAITH FORMATON … Registration for Faith
Formation for the fall is now open. Return
your forms ASAP to the Faith Formation
Office. If you did not receive one in the mail,

The Parish Office
will be closed on Monday, May 28 in honor
of Memorial Day. The Office will reopen on
Tuesday, May 29 at 9:00am.
The Annual HOPE Appeal
continues this weekend with
our third in-pew solicitation.
The programs, services and
ministries supported by the
Annual HOPE Appeal help
meet the needs of people in our parish and
diocese. The HOPE Appeal serves all of us
in different ways. Our assessment this year
is $44,559. Your financial support, in any
amount, is greatly appreciated.
Calling all 8-12th graders! Do you want to join a ministry whose hours
can be used towards your community service requirements? The nursery needs sitters for the 9a Mass on Sundays! Call Linda Hansen 315-420-5965 or stop by the nursery at 9a Mass.
St. James Annual
Golf Outing will
be Monday, June
25, 2018 at
Cazenovia Country
Club on Number Nine Road. 12:00p tee time
(shotgun start), Captain and Crew format.
$100/pp for non-members; $80 for CCC
members. Includes greens fees, golf cart
and dinner. Longest drive, closest to pin and
putting competitions along with raffle prizes.

Our annual Cemetery
Collection will be next
weekend June 2/3.
Please use the green
envelopes that came in your packets or there
are envelopes on the racks at the entrances.
