Sundays At 10:10 a.m. children ages 3 1/2 (Pre-K) through 5th grade meet in the Children’s Chapel for a brief gathering with story and fellowship led by longtime parishioner and Children’s Ministry Director, Mary Chalon, and guest leaders.

Parents are welcome to attend, but it’s just fine to leave your child with a kind goodbye. The children will be well taken care of by our volunteer teachers and staff and returned to their parents during the Sunday service before the Eucharist.

At 10:20 a.m. or so, our children are separated by age groups and led by their adult volunteer leaders to their Atrium rooms upstairs in the school building or in the church building.

This year, we continue to offer our Godly Play curriculum for Pre-K through 3rd graders. This wonderful program focuses on storytelling, visual display and interaction with materials, using Old Testament, New Testament and liturgy, in a contemplative, yet playful style. We continue to offer our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd to supplement this program for this age group. We are always seeking able and willing adult volunteers to join our wonderful team as assistants and leaders. Training and materials are provided, curriculum is user friendly, and our team is very welcoming!

Pre-K through Fifth GradeCHILDREN’S CHAPEL, 10:10 A.M.Children ages 3 1/2 through 5th grade are led through Bible stories by Mary Chalon, Children’s Ministry Director, followed by a time of sharing before the children go to age appropriate rooms with Children’s Ministry leaders.

OUR LEVEL ONE AND LEVEL TWO ATRIUMS Level One is designed for our youngest children, and Level Two is tailored for our First through Third graders. Both are led by certified leaders in Godly Play, Children’s Ministry Director Mary Chalon, volunteer parishioners Anne Beckner and Barbara Kabealo, and assisted by Sylvia Bergstrom and Emily May.

OUR FOURTH AND FIFTH GRADERS meet after Chapel in the Live B.I.G. (Belief In God) room upstairs in the Parish Hall building. This curriculum is interactive and speaks to the growing spiritual understanding and real world concerns starting to emerge in this age group. We currently have volunteer teachers on a rotating basis and seek future volunteers to work with this wonderful group.

NURSERY CARE is available every Sunday for infants in the nursery room, (adjacent to the Sanctuary), and toddler care is available in the toddler room, upstairs in the Parish Hall building. We have four certified and very qualified child care workers to look after infants and toddlers every Sunday. Child Care is also provided after the church service for those children until 12:30 p.m. each Sunday.

PARENTS We provide many opportunities for parent participation and volunteering in Children’s Ministry. We always need Sunday volunteers and assistance at Children’s Passover (Palm Sunday), the Easter Egg Hunt (Easter Sunday), Advent Family Night, the Christmas Eve Children’s Pageant and several more.
