PASTOR: Fr. Ted [email protected] Rectory: (740) 474-1821Emergency: (740) 352-9401
A NOTE FROM FR. TEDWhat’s up? Or “Wazzup?” Here’s what being a “red” county during the pandemic means for us.We’ve been doing things right! Masks for the Masses, weekend and daily (well, I did allow because of “social distancing” for the weekday people to remove masks, IF they were comfortable with that). Can’t happen now…masks stay on. I thought long and hard about using one server and one lector and a cantor for our Masses but decided against it. Puts us more at risk and we don’t want that! Everyone should be and feel safe as can be.Private funeral Masses can still happen with masks and distancing. Music but no choir. Looks a lot like our Sunday Mass. Attendance this past weekend was: Saturday 5:00 a.m. – 47; Sunday 8:00 a.m. – 61; Sunday 11:15 a.m. – 21. FYI.Sacrament of Reconciliation IS happening! 4:00-4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Place varies with the weather. No rain and it’s outside. Just look for me on the bench by the ramp. If rain, then in the Church Hall. Enter from the alley entrance. Enter slowly in case someone is already there. You’ll leave by the same door. If you cannot make those times, you can always call the rectory for an appointment. Pray for an end to the Coronavirus.
CHAD ALLEN INVESTED IN FRANCISCAN HABIT: On July 19, Chad Allen, son of Scott and Mona Allen, and brothers from his friary and other friaries were presented their habits in an “investiture” ceremony. They are all now at San Lorenzo Seminary in Santa Ynez, CA for the next year of their novitiate. Br. Charbel (Chad) Allen enjoys hearing from his family at St. Joseph and the new mailing address for correspondence is: San Lorenzo Seminary Attn: Br. Charbel AllenP.O. Box 247 Santa Ynez, CA 93460
FISHER CATHOLIC BID O’ LUCK UPDATE: In the interest of reducing community risk of exposure during the ongoing pandemic, it has been decided to change the Bid O’ Luck format to an online only bidding auction slated for Saturday, August 22. Stay tuned for more details or contact Kellie Shonk at [email protected].
SPECIAL COLLECTIONS FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST:The Church in Latin AmericaCommunity KitchenThe Society of St. Vincent de Paul
OFFERTORY: Starting this month, we will begin reporting our offertory amounts monthly vs. weekly. Much of our giving is submitted weekly from Masses and use of envelopes; however, more and more, we have offertory that is submitted monthly and bimonthly, particularly those mailing in donations and those using Faith Direct (online giving). This is why you often see weeks with low amounts and other weeks with high amounts. We believe a monthly total will provide a clearer picture to our parish of our collections. Should you have any specific questions, please feel free to email the office. Offertory totals for the past few months: March: $21,268.51; April: $29,276.43; May: 22,167.13; June: $35,272.53; July: $24,412.36.
OUR PRAYERS FOR OTHERS: Hold in your prayers Frances Wright, Mason Jones, Art Dossman, Linda Adams and all those who are on our prayer chain. If you have permission and wish to put a friend or loved one on the email prayer chain, or are interested in praying as part of our prayer chain, please contact Jackie Rose at [email protected] or (614) 595-7633. If you would also like to have a name listed in our church bulletin for prayers, please notify us at [email protected] or call 477-2549, ext 300.

Father in heaven, we thank you that we may feel your leading, your lordship, for you have blessed us with every spiritual and heavenly gift in Christ. We thank you that we may be among those who receive true life always anew, who praise and glorify you, exulting even in dif-ficult days. For it is just in the difficult days that we need to belong to those who are thankful and joyful, who always find new certainty in their lives. With them may we experience the good you give on earth so that humankind may be blest and come at last into your hands. Amen.

A Prayer for PriestsGracious and loving God, we thank you for the gift of our priests. Through them, we experience your presence in the sacraments.
Help our priests to be strong in their vocation. Set their souls on fire with love for your people.
Grant them the wisdom, understanding, and strength they need to follow in the footsteps of Jesus.
Inspire them with the vision of your Kingdom. Give them the words they need to spread the Gospel.
Allow them to experience joy in their ministry. Help them to become instruments of your divine grace.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns as our Eternal Priest.
