IMPORTANCE OF A FAST START The Western Conference is demanding.  In 2014-15, the conference produced six 100-point teams for the second consecutive season. What’s more, it kept a 95-point Los Angeles Kings club out of the playoff picture – just the third time since 1995-96 (start of 82-gameslate) that a team that garnered as many points was forced to start vacation early.  That being said, a good start to the season isessential.  Consider that of the eight playoff teams last season, only Winnipeg (4-5-1) got off to a sub .500 10-game start.  As for theothers, they combined to go 45-20-5 in their first 10 outings.  On the flip side, the six teams that missed the postseason combined for a24-23-13 start – a record that is slightly inflated by the aforementioned Kings’ 6-2-2 mark out-of-the-gate.Best 10-Game Starts in Blues History2002-03: 8-1-12013-14: 7-1-22010-11: 7-1-22015-16: 7-2-1 **3 other 7-2-1 starts: 2000-01, 1997-98, 1993-94 THAT’S A WRAPThe Blues etched another memorable regular season in 2014-15, in fact, in terms of points, it was tied for the third best mark infranchise history (51-24-7, 109 pts).  The culmination of the season brought the Blues the Central Division Championship, their seconddivision title in the last four years and the ninth in club history overall.  Since 2011-12, and under the direction of GM Doug Armstrongand Head Coach Ken Hitchcock, the Blues have posted three of the top four regular seasons in franchise history1999-00 – 114 pts2013-14 – 111 pts2014-15 – 109 pts2011-12 – 109 pts HITCHCOCK IN EXCLUSIVE COMPANY (Reg.
