Oremus pro invicem. “Let us pray for each other.”

We bid a fond farewell to Dr. Charles Saik as our parish music director who will be retiring after over 16 years of faithful service to St. Mary parish. His last Sunday with us will be December 13 and the hosting of Lessons and Carols. Dr. Saik has had a profound impact on our praise and worship of God through his choral conducting, organ playing, and coordination of our overall music program through these many years. Countless weddings, funerals, and special liturgies have benefitted from his musical expertise and vast experience. St. Augustine said that “he who sings prays twice” so we are doubly indebted to his contribution in leading us in worship. We will miss his enthusiastic spirit and dedicated service of the music ministry at our parish, and we wish him well as he moves on to the next chapter of his life, where I am confident he will continue to make a “joyful noise unto the Lord”. We are currently undergoing a local and national search for a new music director. Please refer any qualified person you may know to the following advertisement:

PRAYER TO THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY BY SAINT GREGORY THE WONDERWORKER

Mary, you are the vessel and tabernacle containing all Mysteries. You know what the patriarchs did not know; you experienced what was not revealed to the Angels; you heard what the prophets did not hear.

In short, everything that was hidden from preceding generations was made known to you; even more, most of these wonders

depended on you. Amen.

DIVINE MERCY CORNER

“This firm resolution to become a saint is extremely pleasing to Me. I bless your efforts and will give you opportunities to sanctify yourself. Be watchful that you lose no opportunity that My providence offers you for sanctification. If you do not succeed in taking advantage of an opportunity, do not lose your peace, but humble yourself profoundly before Me and, with great trust, immerse yourself completely in My Mercy. In this way, you will gain more than you have lost, because more favor is granted to a humble soul than the soul itself asks for...”
