Did Jesus ever do anything wrong?

Scripture – ‘When the devil had given up trying to tempt him, he left him alone.’ (Luke 4:13)

Jesus was tempted like any other human, but because he was God’s son he never gave in – he never did anything wrong. Not

even once. How amazing is that?When someone tried to make him do something wrong, he

prayed to God to help him. We can pray to Jesus to help us too.

Jesus didn’t want to do wrong, he just wanted to how us that God loves us.

Did Jesus ever do anything wrong?

Reflection

Because Jesus was perfect, He didn’t want to be rich or famous. He wanted to show us how to

love. Jesus help us to be more like you.

What does it mean that I’m created in the image of God?

Scripture – ‘So God created humans in his own image.’ (Genesis 1:27)

This doesn’t mean that we all look like God, but because we are God’s children, we are like Him in lots of ways.

God loves. We can love. God has a sense humour. We can laugh. God is joyful and we can be too. This is what He means by ‘created in his image’. We must try to love God

as much as He loves us.

What does it mean that I’m created in God’s image?

Reflection

God loves us so much He wants us to live with him forever.

Help me to try to follow God and show that I love Him in the same way that He loves me.

Does God stop loving me when I do things

wrong?

Scripture – ‘When God forgives our sins, He also forgets them.’ (Jeremiah 31:34)

All human beings do things wrong. We were born this way. God loves us no matter what we do. Remember He

even sent His son to Earth to die for our sins. When we do things wrong, it makes God sad but He will never stop

loving us.

Does God stop loving me when I do things wrong?

Lord, thank you for forgiving me when I do things wrong. Help me to appreciate how much you love me even when we make the wrong choices. Give me strength to be

more like you.

Why are there so many different types of

churches?

Scripture – ‘They are all made up of people who love Jesus.’ (Acts 2: 42, 46-47).

There are many types of churches because there are many different types of Christians. Some churches meet at a special

building; others meet at home. Some sing songs and have a choir; others use guitars and modern songs. Some believe one thing; others believe a different thing. The one thing that they

all have in common is that they all love Jesus.

Why are there so many different types of churches?

Lord, help me to be respectful of other people’s beliefs. Help those who don’t understand how much you love them. I pray that I can live my life the way

you showed me to.

What is the golden rule?

Scripture – Love your neighbour as if they are yourself.’ (Mark 22:39)

Jesus told us that the most important thing in life is to love each other. It is the golden rule because it is so important. Jesus talked about it on many occasions. He wants us to treat others in the way that we want them to

treat us.

Lord, thank you for teaching us this important message. Help me to know that when we show love to others, we are also showing our love

for you.

Why did Jesus come to earth?

Scripture – ‘For God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son.’ (John 3:16)

Jesus told us that God sent Him to earth to bring people a full and wonderful life. God wanted Jesus to show us what He is really like. God also wanted Him to show that all that believe in Him have their sins forgiven. Until Jesus came, nobody knew

what God was like.

May we come humbly before the Lord in thanks for the life and example of His Son Jesus. Thank you Jesus for showing us how to live; a shining example to us all. Give me the strength to live a good and holy life worthy

of your sacrifice.

Can God actually talk to me?

Scripture – ‘God knows exactly what you need to hear.’ (Isaiah 30:21)

Yes, God does talk to you. The secret is learning how to listen to his voice. Sometimes that means just sitting quietly without being distracted. Other times, God may speak to us in the words of

someone that we love. God wants to talk to us because He loves us. We need to find the time to give ourselves the chance to hear

God.

Lord, I love You and desire to seek You in all things. Help me to be aware of the ways in which You speak to me day and night. Help me to listen to Your voice and to be led by Your

gentle hand. I give myself to You completely my Lord. I love You and wish to know You more fully. Jesus, I trust in You.

Does God go to sleep?

Scripture – ‘And on the seventh day, God rested.’ (Genesis 2: 1-3)

Because God loves you, He is always watching you. God is not human. So he doesn’t get tired or need to sleep. However, God values the importance of rest. It is so important that God made a commandment about it. Rest is good for our body and our souls. It

also gives us time to listen to God’s voice.

Help me to come to you. Remind me that you are always there to help in my times of need. Show me how to rest and give myself the

opportunity listen. Calm my thoughts and encourage my heart to love You. Settle me in Your truth and in Your love. Amen.
