Family Day of Service - Cleaning St. Michael
Saturday, January 20 at 10am-4pm
Not only is it important to clean your own home, but it is of great value to also take care
of your spiritual home. To start off the new year of 2018, we are inviting families to a
Family Day of Service by helping to clean different parts of St. Michael parish on
Saturday, January 20 from 10am-4pm. Activities will include waxing the pews, scrapping
gum off the bottom of the pews, and cleaning fingerprints off the walls of the PLC.
Everyone is welcome to attend and participate. We will provide all the cleaning supplies
necessary. If you cannot attend the entire time, that is fine. We will take all the help we can
get. If you plan on being present during lunchtime, please bring your lunch. To sign up,
please contact Jennifer Gonzalez at [email protected] or 713-403-4197.

Rental Assistance Given: $5,809.00
Utility Assistance Given: $626.00

In the Gospel we hear Jesus say: “Everyone who acknowledges me before others, I will acknowledge before my heavenly Father”. Through your gifts, the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is able to: “acknowledge the goodness of the Father” by assisting families in need with food, rent, utilities, furniture and other necessities.
Thank You from a Family in Need
“Good morning! Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and generous gifts to our family! You truly came in a time of despair and I wish there was a way I could repay you. This was a true blessing for us. We are so grateful and I want you to know you truly, positively impacted our lives during such a difficult time. We were able to eat a warm meal, fill up my gas tank and the kids were able to choose a sweater for this winter season. I know that this is temporary and God has bigger and betters plans for my family. May God continue to bless you and your family. Thank you”. - Nathaly

Who is God? How did our world come to be?
Why do we exist? Why is there evil in the
world? What is the point of any of this in
general?
The book of Genesis has all these answers
and more. Even though the stories of Adam,
Eve, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, and Joseph are from
so long ago, they have more relevance into the
life of a teen than we might think.

Why are we, as Catholics, challenged to be pro-
life? What does being pro-life in high school
involve?
Being "pro-life" goes beyond babies and challenges
us, even in high school, to recognize the inherent
dignity of all people and to treat all, no matter the
circumstance, as just that… people.
Join us at Awaken for our new series "We All Bleed
The Same" as we study what the Catholic Church
means when She says we are pro-life from conception
until natural death. Topics will include euthanasia,
the death penalty, abortion, immigration, refugees,
and the poor.
High School students are invited to join us
beginning January 7th from 7:00-8:30pm
