For168years,ithasbeenthemissionoftheBoardofGovernorsofStMichael’sChurchSchooltokeeptheschool’sfeesaslowaspossiblesothatanindependent,Christianeducationisopentoasmanychildrenaspossible.Forthisreason,StMichael’shasaflatfeestructure–onetuitionfeeforallyear-groups–andthisfeeisconsiderablylowerthanthegraduatedfeeschargedbyotherindependentschoolsinthecity.ENROLMENTTheEnrolmentprocess:

i) ToapplyforaplaceatStMichael’s,theApplicationforPlacementFormmustbecompleted.A$200.00depositispayableatthistime.Onacceptanceofyourchild’sapplicationbytheschool,thisdepositbecomesnon-refundable.

ii) Tofullyenrolyourchild,itisthennecessarytocompletetheEnrolmentFormaswell.Thisformincludesadditionalinformationaboutyourchild,includingbirthcertificate,emergencycontactdetailsandimmunizationrecords.

Bothformsmustbecompletedforyourchild.FEESTuitionFeesStMichael’sChurchSchoolacademicTuitionFeesfor2020are$11,050.46pa.Thisisaflatfeeperpupilinallyear-groups,Years1–8.

PaymentinFullDiscount:theschooloffersadiscountof3%iftheannualTuitionFeesarepaidinfullon20Januaryoftheacademicyear.

The3%discountedfeefor2020is$10,718.95pa.

SiblingDiscount:forfamilieswithmorethanonechildenrolledintheschoolatthesametime,a$200.00discountisgivenforthesecondchild.Athirdchildandanysubsequentsiblingsreceivea$500,00discount.ThisdiscountappliesonlywhilethechildrenareenrolledconcurrentlyatStMichael’s,andisadjustedassiblingsleave,eg:whentheoldestofthreechildrenleaves,theyoungestchild’sdiscountbecomesa2ndchilddiscount.2ndChildDiscount 3rdChildDiscount 4thChildDiscount 5thChildDiscount

DevelopmentLevyAnannuallevyischargedperpupilfortheongoingdevelopmentandmaintenanceoftheschool’sfacilitiesandresources.TheDevelopmentLevyfor2020is$450.00perpupil.SundriesEachpupilhasamonthlySundriesAccount.ChargesaremadetotheSundriesAccountforsuchitemsasstationery,academiccompetitions,coursetextsandnovels,computersubscriptions,concertsandtheatretrips,sport,Y7&8Programmeactivities,andoutdooreducationincludingcamps.Forexpensiveitemssuchascamp,wewillnotifyparentsbeforehandaswerealizethatsundriescanaddup.

AfterSchoolCare:ifyouusetheAfterSchoolCareserviceforyourchild,thesefeesarechargedtoyourSundriesAccount.Ifyourchildattendsanafter-schoolclub,AfterSchoolCarefeesapplyfromthetimethattheclubisscheduledtofinishifyourchildisnotcollectedfromschoolatthattime.TheAfterSchoolCarefeefor2020is$11.00perhour,chargedinquarter-hourincrements.Alatefeeof$5.00/5minutesischargedafter5.30pm.

ItinerantLessons:individualMusicandSpeech&Dramalessonsareprivatearrangementsandsowillbechargeddirectlytoyoubyyourchild’sitinerantteacher,andnotviatheSundriesAccount.

PAYMENTTuitionFees,DevelopmentLevyandSundriesareinvoicedinelevenequalinstalmentsandaredueforpaymentonthe20thofeachmonth,fromJanuarythroughtoNovember.Thefirstpaymentisdueon20Januaryeachyear.

Asnotedabove,fullpaymentoftheyear’sTuitionFeeson20Januaryattractsa3%discount.

AtStMichael’s,themandatorymethodofpaymentisbyDirectDebit.ADirectDebitformisincludedinyourenrolmentpackforyoutocompleteandreturntotheschooloffice.

Invoicesaresentbyemail.Eachinvoiceincludesyourchild’sTuitionFee,DevelopmentLevyandSundriesforthatmonth,andadvisesthedatewhenthefundswillbedrawnfromyourbankaccount.

ii. FromtimetotimetheBoardmay,atitsdiscretion,alteritsfees,chargesor

TermsofTrade.Whentherearetwoormoresignatoriestoapupil’sEnrolmentForm,thosesignatoriesshallbejointlyandseverallyliableforthesefeesandcharges.Existingparentsandothersignatorieswillbeinformedinadvancebyemailofanychangestothefeesandcharges,orTermsofTrade.Wherefeesarepaidbyotherthanparents,itisexpectedthatparentswillalsocommunicateanysuchchangestotheirrelevantsignatoriestoensureallpartiesareinformed.

iii. TheBoardreservestherighttocollectandholdpersonalinformationonthesignatoriesforthepurposesofcreditrecoveryshouldthisbecomenecessary,andmaysupplyanysuchpersonalinformationtoanysolicitor,creditagency,associationorthelikeforthepurposesofrecoveringanysumowingbythesignatoriestoStMichael’sChurchSchool.

iv. TheBoardworksveryhardtokeepfeesaslowaspossibleandisnotinapositiontobeamoneylender.TheTuitionFees,DevelopmentLevyandSundrieschargedbytheBoardaretobepaidbytheduedateeachmonth.Latepaymentoftheaccountconstitutesadefault,andthedefaultershallbeliabletopayinterestontheoverdueamount.Thisinterestshallbechargedfromtheduedateoftheoverdueaccountuntilthedateofpaymentattherateof2%permonth.

v. Iftheoverdueaccountisnotpaidwithin60daysoftheduedate,theBoardshallconsiderfurtheractiontorecoverthedebt.ThedefaultershallbeliabletopaythecostsofanyfurtheractionstakenbytheBoardtorecoverthedebt,includinganyfeesandcostschargedbytheschool’sdebtcollectionagency.

vi. OverdueaccountsarereportedinfulltotheBoardatitsregularmeetings.Whereaccountsareconsistentlyoverdueandnoeffectiverepaymentarrangementshavebeenmade,thepupil’splaceintheschoolcanbeforfeited.IfTuitionFees,DevelopmentLevyandSundriesforthepreviousschoolyearhavenotbeenpaidinfullby20Januaryofthefollowingschoolyear,thepupilconcernedshallnotbepermittedtocommenceTerm1ofthenewschoolyearunlesseffectiverepaymentarrangementsdeemedacceptabletotheBoardhavebeenputinplace.

vii. Ifanaccountpaymentisdishonoured,anadministrationfeeof$100.00(GSTinclusive)shallapply.

viii. Ifyouwishtowithdrawyourchildfromtheschoolforanyreason,youmustgivetheschoolonefullterm’snoticeinwritingtotheprincipal.Thelastdayonwhichthisnoticecanbegivenisthefirstdayofthetermattheendofwhichyouwishyourchildtoleave.Thisterm’snoticeistoassisttheschoolwithpersonnelandfinancialplanning.Ifthenoticeyougiveislessthanonefulltermandnotgiveninwritingtotheprincipalachargeofoneterm’sTuitionFeesshallapplyinlieuofincorrectnotice
