St. Nicholas School November 30, 2018
Dear St. Nicholas Community,
A huge thank you to Mrs. Shinners, the eighth grade class, and all the volunteers who made the Thanksgiving meal such huge success. Also, the students had a fun time working on making different turkeys and then parading them around school to show each other what they made. We finished that wonderful Tuesday before Thanksgiving with an all school prayer.
The third graders explored different ways to make floats based on a book. They were split up into different groups and each group was given certain materials to make the float. The third graders did an excellent job in their float making.
The Rocket’s of the Month for this month for teamwork were: Jack Oudenhoven Kelcie Conrad, Luella Van Rossum, Bentley Urban, Reed Calmes, Matthew Murphy, Gramm Calmes, Noah Clark, Andrew Steinbarth, Uriah Van De Hey, Cole Schmidt, Owen Delforge, Ben Steinbarth, Adria Ponschock, Addison Conrad, Peter Van Grinsven, Jovie VerKuilen, Brady Janssen, Tucker Brockman, Tayah Conrad, Lucas Cropsey, Angelina Jochman, Joey Krejcie, Matt Malvitz, Savannah McSorley, Meghan Meulemans, Ethan Roskowski, Lucas Van Grinsven, and Greg Westemeier.
I had a parent meeting scheduled for Wednesday, December 5, but I will not be here that day, because I will be home with my baby. I apologize for any inconvenience and I hope to reschedule this meeting in the future.
As the weather is getting colder make sure that you are sending your children with hats, mittens, and boots for recess. The layout for recess has changed for recess because of construction, if you could help me with this that would be great. Thank you!
Thank you everyone for your support of St. Nicholas School. Blessings.save Scott Vanderloop

Thank you to all the families who donated to the Girls on the Run birthday boxes last month. Our Freedom team collected enough supplies to make 68 birthday boxes!! Wow!! The girls decorated and filled the boxes and we donated them to Feeding America. They will be distributed to local families and will help 68 children have an extra special birthday!! Congrats to Adria Ponschock, Clara Conrad, Makayla Evers, and Lydia Evers who participated in Girls on the Run and completed their Celebration 5K on Nov. 10th!

Registration for FAA summer sports (baseball, soccer & softball) will take place online this year. The registration website will begin taking registrations on November 1st, 2018. A late fee will be automatically added to any registration completed February 1st or later. No registrations will be taken after February 28th. If your son/daughter is planning to play on a tournament team for softball or baseball, please try to complete your registration earlier than the deadline (ideally by December 15). Many of the tournament teams will have optional workouts throughout the winter months and it is helpful to know who is interested in playing. Please direct any questions about registration to: [email protected] Registration Link: https://freedomathletics.sportngin.com/register/form/383897061
